If the supply is now shipperless then they're not going to bill you, because by definition there is no supplier to bill you.No bills, no account, no entitlement to EBSS.

Would that mean they should return all the payments as there is no account to pay?

That would be nice! What on earth have I been paying for all this time? Makes me wonder if I didn't send it meter readings would they have charged me at all.

That was what I was thinking.
Maybe go to DefCon 4 and use the DD guarantee to recall all the payments ever made? I'd certainly be tempted to go down that route.

Haha very tempting. Surely I am due some compensation for all of the stress this has caused me! They have said that I can take it further and make an official complaint to Ofgem as it's been 8 weeks since I made the complaint to E.On. but worried if I draw more attention to it, I will have to pay.

No, they didn't say that. Ofgem do not handle consumer complaints. The Energy Ombudsman would be your route for complaint if no response after 8 weeks.. And they don't offer compo for stress. A token sum for goodwill sometimes, rarely more than £50.

I'm wondering if your DNO could provide more information about the MPAN and / or connection? They may be able to confirm if it is disconnected, or why there appears to be confusion over the address / MPAN. (They also may not).
