    It was (still is) contentious because the letters that they used to send to the GPs gave a strong impresion that they shouldn't give any more Fit Notes at all.
    When in fact you may still have needed them for things like Insurance policies, Housing Benefit, Council Tax, etc. which have noting to do with the DWP.
    The DWP were made to reword those GP letters, and to add that consent section to the ESA50 and UC50.
