Travelling to USA

Options
We are travelling to United States next month, I know they are scrapping COVID vaccine requirements on 11th May but we are travelling before then.

I was just wondering from anyone that's recently travelled to USA where they check vaccine status, is it before you leave UK or US side on arrival? Can we just bring our vaccine cards or do we all need the app with digital passes?

If you are travelling whilst the Covid-19 vaccination requirement is still in force then your airline will need to see proof of vaccination status before allowing you to check in.

Vaccine cards are not acceptable. Will need to be the NHS certificate, either on the NHS app or the PDF printed or on a phone.

Most airlines allow you to upload the document on their online check in.

Can't speak from personal experience but doubt that a 'vaccine card' would suffice, so if you don't want to use the app then you'd need to get hold of a proper barcoded Covid pass letter:

Only ever had the Covid cert through the NHS app and no issues visiting the US last year.

Where was you required to show this? Was it at UK airport or is it part of the check in process online?

I've slept a lot since then but I think it was done through Verifly app, which was required to check in.

This was for an Aer Lingus flight.  UK via Dublin to US.

I had to use the app to verify my covid status or you couldn't fly.
Flyready is what some airlines call it.
