How to put shares into an ISA wrapper?

I want to open a stocks and shares isa and then buy some shares I have an eye on and put them into this wrapper. I have searched for guidance on this but can't find it anywhere. I would really appreciate it, if anyone who knows, can kindly walk me through this process

You open the S & S ISA first, load it with cash, then buy the shares from within that ISA, you do not buy shares & then put them into it

And at the risk of stating the obvious, make sure that you choose an ISA provider which allows the shares you have in mind - some only offer proprietary fund selections, for example....3

Thank you for responses, what I have been finding is all the Providers seem to offer 'packaged' offers which are fine but not what I am looking for. Do you know of any platforms that allow me to do what I want to do and offer low(ish) fees. thanks for help.0

As above, most S&S ISA providers will support individual shares (listed on mainstream exchanges), you can see costs via the likes of https://monevator.com/compare-uk-cheapest-online-brokers/2 -

What you want is a whole of market investment platform.

This is very simple to do. Open an ISA with AJ Bell, Hargreaves Lansdown, or others as jimjames mentioned above.
Add money, usually by debit card, then find the shares you want and buy them. Job done!
