Black bathroom mould

Lots of stories about black mould, which is bad if it's all over the house.
But is it common to have black mould in the bathroom?
If it's on a outside wall, it could be caused by water ingress, or condensation. But the bathroom is a very damp room.
I have just washed my bathroom wall with bleach and repainted the wall.
I am hoping that should be sufficient, now that the warmer weather is here.
I have just used ordinary emulsion, do you get bathroom mould in the winter?

I don't get any mould on the walls at any time of year. Didn't in my last property either.Never thought of the bathroom as damp. What sort of ventilation do you have?Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

You need better ventilation in the bathroom to stop it coming back - the emulsion will go mouldy again (quickly, as it's not one designed for bathrooms) unless you sort the ventilation.
Do you have a window you can leave cracked open, or a fan installed?1 -

We live in an old stone cottage, and have no extractor fan in the bathroom, we open the window wide and shower quickly.
Hubby has a habit of closing the window too soon and we get condensation damp build up.
As soon as I see a sprinkling of mould, about this time of year, I spray with mould killer.
We are planning to install an humidistat extractor this year.
When we moved here the place was damp, but had been empty for nearly a year. We had mould on a hallway wall but determined it was a leaking gutter so we replaced it last summer and have had no mould this winter.
We have damp elsewhere but it does not result in mould.0 -
Never had mould in my bathroom, but we have powerful loft extractor fans. You might need better ventilation.0

But that goes against keeping the house warm.
I may invest in some white bathroom paint.0 -
Do you have space in the loft for an Inline Extractor Fan?
I say this because I have just had one installed and they are three times the power of a wall mounted bathroom fan

We used to live in a cottage and suffered with mould in the bathroom all year round. But then again it didn't have a DPC.
Zinsser paint is really good for covering mould then you paint over that. But it sounds like you need to address what's causing the mould first.1 -
Poor ventilation normally, but if well ventilated, could be a sign of a leak that means the water is never removed. Also consider what wall is the mould growing on - north and or east facing external walls will be more prone to it growing2006 LBM £28,000+ in debt.
