Studio catalogue refund

It wouldn't process via the bank having spoke with the bank they stated it had been refused they couldn't give an exact reason as to why and advised me to contact the retailer which I have done. Studio said they couldn't see the issue either and they'd cancel the existing one and reissue another one to which I'm now awaiting.retiredbanker1 said:
What do you mean it won't cash via the bank?bluelou93 said:I received a letter too I've since received a cheque but it won't cash via the bank so having to chase it up. Has anyone else received and successfully cashed the cheque?0 -
Since checking with the bank the reasoning for the refused cheque it came down to them stating it couldn't be processed as they suspected it to be a Fraudulent/Counterfeit cheque. I have contacted studio several times with the most recent response from them being that it's been cashed which is incorrect. I would've preferred not to receive a letter or a cheque in the first place especially with a baby on the way, moving house and Christmas it was certainly a welcomed and needed helping hand. Very disheartening0

Hi, I got one today. Is it worth trying? Suspect they would need bank details though if they are sending a cheque?0

Actually just re read and not bank details, just account detailscharlylovesphil said:Hi, I got one today. Is it worth trying? Suspect they would need bank details though if they are sending a cheque?0 -
Would it work for someone who had one many years ago, but moved since?0

Forgot to say, my partner got another letter from Studio today, and they've now refunded him just over £1k - now he got to wait for a cheque to come within 30 days.0

I can confirm the cheque was legitimate. Unfortunately it was the app that was the issue as when you upload the cheque it doesn't recognise the computerised signature so classes it a Fraudulent however if you take it into a cashier it should process without any issues.0

Sorry… hadn’t realise there had been comments in the thread.
I got a cheque through the post and it cashed with no issues.
With not using the studio account for a while I was skeptical but great to hear others have had refunds too.Don’t put it down - put it away!

I don't see what sort of scam would work on the basis of a firm sending you a refund via cheque - worst case the cheque bounces and they get charged by their bank - so long as you don't do something silly like transfer the money into an account provided by a dodgy phone call anywaySam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
