Humax box

HI,
I have just cancelled my Virgin TV package and was considering a Humax box to record on.
The one my other half wanted was the Humax Aura 4K 1TB, but the reviews are not brilliant.  We wanted a box to record up to 4 and to be able to watch another one.
Is  anyone using this box atm please and can advise me?

And now I have the joy of having my foster granddaughter becoming my real granddaughter. Can't ask for anything better

UPDATE,
As of today 180919. my granddaughter is now my official granddaughter, adoption finally granted

Just remember that it's via an aerial not your existing Virgin connection , so only channels available on Freeview, few of which are in HD.

I was thinking the exact same thing, can't think of 4 programs  I would want to record at the same  time from freeview. I am in the same position regarding Virgin. I  am planning on leaving the TV part, possibly broadband too. I absolutely love my Tivo box but the price has  got too much.I was going to buy the Manhattan T3-R but sellers were dwindling and I thought they were folding. Turns out there is a T4-R coming out in a month or two.
One thing I read about the Humax box is when you choose a program from the guide you have to press guide again to exit it. I had a telly that did this and it annoyed the crap out of me, I have been told this is not the case with the Manhattan box.

Well, I can think of a few I like to record, just in case I miss them.
We have a Humax box connected to an old sky dish already but wanted another one, a more up to date box. We have a smart TV so have Freeview built-in already
Thanks for the input and I will check out the Manhattan box

Regarding the T4-R there absolutely no details about it yet, but I emailed the manufacturers after reading there might be one coming and they confirmed it and said it would be end of May beginning of June

I've got an Aura 4K Humax box and I find it absolutely fine. It's silent in operation, never misses a record, I can set recordings if I'm out of the house and won't make it back in time. I've not read any reviews of it (might do now!) - so it would be interesting to see what the bad reviews are. It's silent, never misses a recording and is very responsive.

The only thing I'd say about it would be that I first got a "refurb" box. This arrived and wouldn't tune. I knew my signal was fine because I'd had an old TalkTalk Youview box for years with no problems (other than it was terrible, slow and clunky). Humax support tried to fix it, sending out a widget to put in the back of it (suggesting too strong a signal problem) - but in the end I returned it and was sent a brand new box, which has been perfect from day one. I've had it 12 months and it's never missed anything.

    Thanks armith,
I think I will go and get them now.  We do have an old one that has been fine but, on getting rid of Virgin we just wanted to update our box.
I think more people post negative comments on reviews so its nice to read a positive one.
