Does Tandem have a transfer limit?

kidwell25 said:Does anyone know what the daily limit is for the opposite process - i.e. transferring money from Tandem back to your linked account (Barclays in my case)? I presume any such limit would be set by Tandem but I can't find any mention of it in the account information.85k is ok, Moved that last time when saving matured.2

I made three transfers into Tandem this morning but only two have so far deposited...
The first two deposits landed within an hour & we're for £13K & £10K
The third and final one for £12K was sent just before midday
I went on live chat and they just advised it can take 2-24 hours even though the first two were pretty instant.
Reason I sent the total £35K split into 3 transactions somit wouldn't get delayed!
All payments were settled straight away by my linked Starling account.
Anyone else has deposit delays with Tandem?

This is very unlikely a problem at the Tandem end. Much more likely your payment is held up by Starling for additional checks.SickGroove said:I made three transfers into Tandem this morning but only two have so far deposited...

How did you make the payments - by Faster Payment from Starling, or by Open Banking request from Tandem?0 -

When sending multiple payments in this fashion, you are increasing the probability that one will be held up for checks.

I like to send £1 or £10 first to newly opened savings accounts.
As above it can cause fraud checks with the sending bank.
I would rather have that vs losing my money.

I sent the first payment by open banking, then read that open banking should only be used for smaller amounts, so I sent the other two payments via faster payment bank transfer from Starling... As I say all 3 payments are showing as settled from Starling, but the 3rd deposit into Tandem still not showing.Band7 said:

I've got all the payment confirmation PDFs from Starling stating all 3 payments sent & settled.
I'll wait til midday today as that's when the 24 hours are up, that's how long I was told via Tandem chat that deposits can take to appear...even though the first two were pretty instant.
The only reason I split the payments is previously on this forum people have said it's better to do several smaller payments under 15K to avoid checks!0 -
Tbf, it is unlikely that anyone on this forum actually knows how each institution's fraud check algorithms work. If it could be predetermined then fraudsters would quickly work out how to bypass them.SickGroove said

Whilst people on here can recount their own experience, it doesn't mean your's, or mine, will be the same.
I hope your third transfer appears soon. I know how fretting it can be when five figure sums aren't visible quickly 😬1 -
Has anyone else had a deposit into Tandem Bank not show within the stated 2-24 hours? I've now got them to log a missing payment form and lodged a formal complaint...
Just don't understand how the first two deposits went through without a hitch, yet the third payment is in limbo. Surely, if it's been flagged as unusual activity, they should call or email me as soon as it's flagged...0 -
Make sure you ask both banks to make you whole.SickGroove said:Has anyone else had a deposit into Tandem Bank not show within the stated 2-24 hours? I've now got them to log a missing payment form and lodged a formal complaint...

You are missing out on interest every day.
I had 81k missing from Thursday to Monday twice @ 5% and 4.85%.
£55.48 @ 5% for 5 days and £53.81 @ 4.85%.
I complained and complained to all 4 banks.
In the end I got £100 from one, £90, £85 and £75.
All blame the other bank, but as a good will gesture have some money and go away.
Never give up, fight fight fight.

As others have said the payment is likely to have been flagged by the sending bank for review.SickGroove said:

Sending the payments as you did is likely to have flagged concerns. You could have sent the entire sum from Starling in one payment
Banks are allowed to delay payments until the end of the next working day for additional checks before they send it.
It doesn't matter that the Starling app suggests the money has gone and no, they won't necessarily contact you immediately.
It won't be a issue at the Tandem end.
