Broadband and moving house

I’m moving to a new rented flat and I’ve just found out that my broadband provider Shell Energy can’t provide the same broadband package in the new flat (Superfast Fibre), instead they can only provide the much more expensive one (Full Fibre).
I’m mid contract - didn’t choose to move, landlord sold my flat and I’m lucky to have anywhere else to live (on a low income) - but they said they could give a small discount on the upgraded package. But then they said they’d need an engineer to install the broadband and so I’d need my landlords permission because they might have to drill a hole in the wall or lay cables down. My landlord has literally just renovated the flat. I’m lucky he’s letting me live there at all but the contract is only 6 months and then after that it’s monthly rolling - ie my situation is precarious.
I checked openreach and my existing type of broadband IS installed at the new flat so I don’t see why they can’t just give me the same deal.
My only other option is to change provider and pay the huge early termination fee (£167).
I don’t know what to do. It feels so unfair and arbitrary, but I’m really loathe to ask my landlord. I can’t afford to get his back up.

There is no reason why providers should charge more for the same ‘broadband speed package’ just because it’s FTTP and not FTTC , BT for example change the same for 40, 55 or 80Mb irrespective of it being delivered via FTTC or FTTP .
If you happen to be in an Openreach copper stop sell area ( common when the majority of the area can get FTTP ) Openreach stop selling ADSL and FTTC to ISP’s , so new customers have no choice but to take FTTP .
If ( for arguments sake ) you are on 40Mb FTTC currently, then Shell should make 40Mb FTTP available to you, and no reason why it shouldn’t be the same price , however if you get a discounted price currently on your FTTC , they are under no obligation to continue the discounts at the new address.0
