Best way to spend abroad?

Hello! I’m going on holiday to Croatia in June and I’m trying to figure out the best way to spend abroad. I’ve not been on holiday in about 5 years so I’m not really sure what’s best to go for. I was thinking of just exchanging up some euros to take with me and doing all my spending in cash- but I’m not really sure how much to take and worry about running out. I’ve also debated getting a Chase current account because I’ve seen they have fee free spending. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice/recommendations or knows of any other accounts that are available to all that don’t charge a fee that might be a good option.
Thank you!😊

Chase card, near perfect exchange rate and 1% cash back on purchases.

Chase are a good option and with the 1% cash back my preferred one but I’d suggest getting at least a couple. I like Starling & Monzo but a credit card might also be useful; there are several options out there and I have a Halifax Clarity.
One hotel I used in Zagreb last year insisted on a credit card for incidentals at check in. Nothing was charged to the card so it didn’t need to be a travel one though.
Monzo give £5 to each party if you recommend them (or at least they did fairly recently) so if you know a Monzo user you might as well go that route if you open one.1 -
You won't need much cash anywhere in Europe these days. Probably the last place we needed it was Albania a few years ago although when you find places (shops etc) that accept cards you're in a better position.
Not been to Croatia for about 10 years but in most EU cities even the bus now can be paid by card (check this before you go on the city website).
The Chase card is one of the better ones, Starling and Monzo are also highly recommended and make sure you have a credit card incase a hotel/rental car company (if applicable) requires it.💙💛 💔1
