Clear out a flat?

Not sure if anyone can help on this. My step mum who I haven't been in contact with for years following a huge row after my fathers death is now in a home and her flat is sold STC.
My daughter, who like me lives a long way away, has been helping but clearing all the stuff, think hoarders, is a nightmare. She cannot find anyone locally and has been travelling down to take van loads to the local tip and charity shops.
However the tip will not take large beds, settees etc. so what can she do?
Local waste disposal firms not interested man with van not interested etc.
The flat is near South Poole in rural Devon even the council cannot help. Will look for Plymouth waste disposal but wondered if anyone has knowledge of a firm down there who could do the job?

Hire a handyman for a (half)day to brake big items into smaller bits? Then take them to a local tip or order a skip?

Surely there are house clearance firms in Devon?Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.2

Check the local council. Mine has a bulky waste collection service. It's not free, but they will take away the awkward things that nobody wants, such as armchairs.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.2 -

Thanks, I have passed this on to her. She has already tried five similar companies without any positive results. Local council do not do that area!0

Have you looked into donating to the british heart foundation? I know round here they will collect as long as the items are in good, clean condition with the relevant safety tags. It might also be worth getting in contact with the council, not for disposal but to find out if they have any community groups that might support people, whether going into temporary accommodation or those who may not have anything.1

On a google search nearby, Wastemen in Chillington looks the closest. Also Williams Used Furniture in Kingsbridge advertises house clearances https://www.facebook.com/WilliamsFurnitureWarehouse/?locale=en_GB
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Tried BHF and they will not come. She has tried those local ones and they won't even come to give an estimate of the cost.0

Register with all the nearby 'freecycle' groups and put them on there.0
