Confusing EDF situation

surely if the annual average is 4200 and I am using 2200 in 2/3 months, there is something wrong there.Gerry1 said:The average annual all-electric usage is 4200kWh, so your total EDF metered usage is probably about right.Just make sure you're on single rate, not E7.Unfortunately daytime electricity is the most expensive heating you can have.Ideally you should move to a property with gas central heating, or at least High Heat Retention Night Storage Heaters (e.g. Dimplex Quantum) but I realise that may be unrealistic. Also do the Meter Sanity Test.
sorry to be a pain but are you able to develop further on single rate/E7?

They're the coldest months.Economy 7 and similar two-rate tariffs have a day rate that's more expensive than single rate. They only make sense if you use a lot of electricity overnight (storage and immersion heaters) but this probably won't apply in your case.If you have a two-rate meter most suppliers will bill at single rate on request; if not, switch to a friendlier one such as Octopus.0
