That Notice of Discontinuance has today's date on it - 14th March 2024.

Sounds reasonable - not 'funny' at all - that when you spoke to them earlier this week the court knew nothing about that N279.

Thank you, KeithP. Same thought crossed my mind. But I'm thinking they should know what they're doing and wouldhave a strategy on script with time schedules. Bit last minute to be deciding things with the Client, no?

Would DCBL have visibility of events...like with MCOL. So they can see that the hearing date has been changed? I do not have access to MCOL

No. Happens all the time.
Who said it was 'last minute'? This was probably their strategy decided weeks ago.
This is all bluff and counter bluff. They are hoping you will blink first and give in.

No, you won, claim discontinued.  It's over.

You could email that to the court if you like but it is finished.  This happens almost every time after a CCJ set aside. Fully expected.

You're my sunshine, C-M! Thank you soooo much! I want to accept everything you've just said but I've been almost burnt by these legals before so I'm a bit cautious - KeithP may have a point about the bluff. I was thinking as you said, to forward the email onto the Court. Once, I get solid confirmation from the court, I can sit back.

Thank you to everyone who helped me along my journey. I called the Court today and they confirmed that the Claimant had discontinued. But, I shouldn't expect a response to my emails any time soon as the they have a back log of 13 weeks...so much for the automated acknowledgment saying that I should expect a response within 10 days. I couldn't have done it without all you at MSE. Thank you to each and everyone of you, especially you C-M, you were always my flicker of hope and motivation. Ok, I'm off to get another PCN...
