  • Hi Ceridwen,
since November I have excluded meat, poultry and seafood/ fish from my diet to help my ongoing health complaint (it has helped some but not cured me) people do rave about slimming world and the options available are really good - I never lost amazing amounts at time though.... I bought the latest mag which is full of inspiration. If I do go back I think it would need to be to another group as always found people really talked down their achievement / weightloss (even when they were at target )which made me feel really bad as I could only report ... 0.5- 1lb at time some weeks

Hi Mary43 - Happy Birthday to OH :j in my duvet post I meant OOooooooohhh as in - being under my duvet is bliss not oooohhhh as in I havent been productive today. The duvet was great we should hang out more often. Anyway its a little bit brighter out now might join the masses and venture out to B&Q -we need to put some shelves up in our bedroom but maybe ill stay at home and jump on the bed instead (feeling abit teenagerish at the moment!)
    ciao

:D I think that counts as before the 9pm watershed info - or was that counted as exercise towards losing weight target?;) :D

yes dirty house dirty mind :D we have been TTC no joy on that front so just taking a break as the pressure has been abit much

ceridwen and wmf - think I'd go potty if I had a house with bare walls.........I do love my bits and pieces and as long as they're all in their place, i.e. on the walls or shelves then I'm happy. Means more dusting I know but they're what I;d call 'organised clutter'..........things I love to have and look at that give me pleasure. Its all the other 'stuff' that drives me bonkers.....drawers exploding with paper that needs recycling/re-using, hot spots where 'stuff' just gets put cos no-one really knows where it's home is -if indeed it has one.

Kid free zone week now over..................one lad back already having lost his job -something to do with having an 'attitude' (which we know he has) and his pay not going in on time -can understand him being upset over that ! So, we now once again have an 'out of work' lad who now says he's the chance of a flat - shared with someone he knows and I don't - and he says DSSS will pay for it ! Try and explain to someone like him that life isn't that simple, it isn't DSS its HB and they won't pay for the whole of the rent, then there's elec. etc.......................I suspect that the lad who has offered him the 'share' is wanting someone to help pay the rent and it also seems that he would be happy to pass over the lease to our lad once he's 18. Sounds very dodgy to me..............why would someone be willing to let someone else have the lease to their flat ? Last week had a letter from soc. services asking if we'd like to be put forward for a 'pilot scheme' for 18 yr olds to stay in their placement post 18.............too true I would, having seen so many of them come unstuck once all the supports been taken away as well as their home.
Received the letter last week, rang up about it and the person dealing with it is on leave until Wednesday this week and wanted a reply by then !! Just hoping I can grab her first thing on Wednesday morning.

So.........my little 'simplified' few days is now over (and thats without OH and the video saga !!!)..............Trying to pin our lad down to discuss anything is never easy - he's gone off out now in a rush.
Oh well, such is life...............no-one said it would be easy did they.

do it today - I'm beginning to think that disappearing under the duvet is not such a bad idea at the minute..................lol:rotfl:

errrmmm....mary: confession time: bare walls. My walls are absolutely totally bare. I havent got a thing on them anywhere in the whole house.....thinks.....you might find my house a bit "clinical" for your taste (lots of books to look at though...where do you want to start? cookery/homemaking/alternative health care/New Age/travel/Buddhism.....(correct...spotted in one....no fiction books...sorry).

2nd confession time......I'm writing the ceridwen Eco Sluts Guide to Housework whilst I'm doing all this....yes, really...have found a really good general purpose cleaner so far...next....

ceridwen - like the idea of the book..............lol
I probably would find your place a little bit on the 'clinical' side..........not very fond of houses where everythings too 'uniform' either, but each to their own. Be a very boring world if we were all alike wouldn't it. Your book selection sounds interesting............think I might go for the homemaking........lol

do it today no duvet time.............ex foster girl called round with OH's card and a voucher for woolworths - she thought he might like to get a dvd or something.............eeekk !!!! Not a dvd...........had enough of all things technical in the way of dvd/vcr players and the things that go in them !!!
She told me all about the wild life in her garden...........she's now living in a country cottage to die for...........all she needs now is her hubby to stop tinkering about in the garage and finish off her kitchen..........and I thought I was the only one with rooms in the house resembling a building site..............lol

All behind schedule now I am - printed off a gift tag to put on sons shoe box that I've wrapped and ex foster girl stayed longer than I thought so no polish on the painted cupboard, desk still in state of chaos but what the heck...........it was lovely to see her, always is so getting a bit behind is a small price to pay I think. Bit of quality time with someone you care for is never a bad thing.

I'll pick up where I left off tomorrow..........need to melt the wax before I can polish the cupboard anyway.
Oh, just had another flurry of snow !!!!! Thought we were in for a repeat of yesterday but apparently not..............it went as fast as it came:T
