Sorry to hear you are sick Busterollie - don't overdo it. You can pick this challenge back up when you are more able to.
Well done all for simplifying
Cleaned some windows yesterday - am working on being able to see clearly at the moment and surely that means my front livingroom window should be clean outside and in! It looks nicer now and also the cut back bush has cleared some space too.
I'm off to the charity shop with 7 clothing items and am taking 5 library books back. I only have one to pick up (and it is on simplifying your home!), so I'm still concentrating on getting stuff out.
Taking our older dog's carton of glucosamine tablets to the chemist to compare ingredients as she needs a top up and they cost £50 ish from vet. I've read a thread on the pets forum about them being the same as 'human' tablets according to some vets so i'll see what happens.
Off now folks but will pop back in later

My simplifying has gone well today. Got rid on freecycle of a pile of magazines, 11 books, 2 airbeds, 2 bin bags of clothes , and some letter trays and pen pot. Feels better but there is so much more to goWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

Hi everyone, I have been away from here for quite a while, I'm not sure why... I don't think I can catch up on all that I've missed but I'm commiting to popping in here more often, there is so much great wisdom here and a real collective spirit. I hope you are all well and enjoying the simpler choices in life. It's half term next week so I'll be able to spend more time here xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hi all !
Well, the mystery of the missing photo paper is solved.........lol Didn't know whether to thank dear departed Dad for pointing me in the right direction or blame myself for being silly enough to put it in the box with all my card making stuff. I'd decided this morning to plough through some more card making and lo and behold there was the paper !!!
Didn;t get a lot of card making done though.............the lad I care for and his girlfriend spent the morning having huge arguments about which one had said what to upset the other.............there were tears, shouting, storming out, coming back in..........but now it seems all is well..............and they're off to London to the weekend visiting relatives....................lol Oh young love....................:rotfl:
So, today feels a bit of a wasted day in some respects............still, my minds a bit clearer than it was and I sorted out my card making stuff when I'd finished so at least next time I just might be able to find all the bits and pieces I seemed to spend an age looking for this morning.
OH has got a smaller funnel so I can decant the cheap bubble bath into the little whisky bottle without washing the table at the same time.
Lovely posting aril - as always. Inspiring reading.............will my life ever be like that I wonder ?
I can only hope that with a bit more effort from me it just might be.
Hope you're all having a good dayMary

well done on sorting out your card making materials. I keep trying to organise and sort mine but just seem to make more of a mess. What's the secret? We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

DAY 6 - 27/9
Hugs Busterollie, hope you're feeling better soon.
I thought I would have to stay out of the eaves today as my lodger is off work, and access is through her sitting room, but luckily she went out for the morning. So I weeded out another 27 books - eight carrier bags full have gone so far! It clearly is the right time for me, as I'm also enjoying giving particular books to friends I know will appreciate them, and am still enthusiastic about the '27 Things' process.
I expect that the next 27 x 3 days-worth will all be books - I really have/had far too many for one person! So today's thoughts have been about 'enough'. This beautiful blue jewel of a planet needs me to recognise 'enough' and to share my resources more generously and intelligently. It has pulled me up short and now grieves me that most of those books have simply been unthinkingly hoarded by me and have been sitting unread for many a year - that's despite having given many other books to individuals when I've read them. I've been deluding myself by hiding the problem away!
I suspect I'll repeat '27 things' in a few months and let go of more books. I can share more of what I have, and simplify the issue of hoarding by putting the survivors of the cull into circulation via the readitswapit website for example, and using this to not allow the book count to creep up again. Edited to say, I'm having trouble inserting the link, in case it still doesn't work the web address is www.readitswapit.co.uk
Wishing you the blessings of 'enough'
GQ xxxIf you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

groatie queen - you're doing so well and its really inspiring me to make a huge effort next week. My first lot I'm sure will be mainly books (if I can entice OH to actually sort them out as promised) but much as I like the idea of the readitswapit website I doubt that I could afford the postage. One at a time would be ok once I'd got rid of this lot and made a fresh start.
It's certainly a brilliant idea and I like the notion that someone else will get the same pleasure from a book that I have.
vivw - every so often my card making stuff gets sorted then out if all comes again when I do some more and usually gets stuffed back in the box in a hurry. I thinned a lot of it out and sent it to Mums care home for them to use as an activity -I'd accumulated so much of it.........mainly off cuts of card that I buy cheap from the card shop. There's always a fair amount I know I'll never use.
It might be tidy now...........thats today..............wait till I get it out again.........lolMary

Evening all
mary43 - see the point re postage on "recycling" books. I understand libraries are glad of books in good condition and I thought I might have heard somewhere that hospitals are glad of a supply for patients (though I might be wrong on that one?)
Busterollie - GET WELL SOON! Tomorrow is another day. Life (and illness) happens.
bails - like your comment re the collective spirit on here. The Old Style Forum is the friendliest by far - there is very much that sort of ethos on this Board. As this is very much a discussion sort of thread amongst other things - I keep coming back and "tuning in" for the day half-fearful it will have gone off into the sort of "argy-bargy" I have noted happening a lot on other Forums on the website - and heave a sigh of relief that - no - if anything everyone is getting steadily more supportive and helpful all round. I like seeing the way everyone is "chipping in" making helpful suggestions/being supportive when someone needs it/welcoming new contributors and what "quotes" are about to come up today. Everyone is finding a role for themselves and swopping and changing roles and its just all working out fine. Cant be bad:D0 -
I can't see anyone on this forum ever being anything other than friendly and supportive. We're all here for a common goal.........though I have to say mine isn't in the cooking area so much as lifestyle in general.
Best place I think I've ever found, everyone so full of encouragement when things go well and sincere thoughts when they don't.
If only life could be like that wouldn't it be a better worldMary
