DFS Sofa

Looking for some guidance on the following
I bought a sofa from DFS (in store) took forever to come and when it eventually did, it came damaged. I informed them immediately.
They sent a technician who said it was just packing pressure, he heated the damage and it looked ok for about 5 mins and then the dent came back
I have said I am not happy with the sofa and would like to return it but they have said they can only offer for a technician to come out and replace the part that's got the dent in it
I thought I was legally allowed to return this but they have said not.
Could anyone help with this?

I'm no expert on the matter - but you can only return if they cant repair or replace. they have offered to replace the part - let them replace.
What exactly aren't you happy with?0 -
You should be able to get a refund
If the sofa is faulty and you chose a repair they have one attempt to fix it.
By sending a " technician" that "repaired" the sofa and the repaired has failed, then you should get a full refund if you had sofa less than 6 months.

If it's within 30 days you have the short term right to reject, if outside 30 days as above they only get 1 repair attempt and then you may reject.
DFS know this, try to escalate your complaint higher up the chain.

Some very helpful answers I received in my similar Furniture Village thread will be applicable here:

A purchaser can reject outright a faulty item for a full refund within 30 days of purchase - the seller gets no opportunity to repair or replace if the consumer wants a refund.
For faults after 30 days the seller is only allowed a single attempt at either repair or replace. If that one attempt doesn't fix the issue then the consumer can insist on a refund. (A full refund if the fault manifested itself within 6 months of purchase).0
