Mine is showing in Emergency alerts history

I asked the nice google lady and she said (Android 11)

"open your settings, tap apps & notifications then advanced then emergency alerts" (it's wireless emergency alerts on mine)

emergency alert history is in the middle of the list

Don't know what I'd do without the nice google lady, I'd certainly never be able to find anything....
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

Just trawling round my Galaxy A13 settings (Android 13) and I've found there are 2 ways to get to it.
    Settings>Notifications>Advanced settings>Wireless Emergency Alerts
    Settings>Safety and Emergency>Wireless Emergency Alerts
'Speak alert message' was off the bottom of the screen so I didn't see it until now, it was turned off by defalt on mine.

  • I dont know why but i did not get the alert anyone else the same????

It's because they are already tracking you and didn't need to activate your phone........

One minute early but why was it an American voice?
Because that's what your phone is set to?...Mine was a rather nice lady from the Home Counties (Possibly)...
My phone is not "set to" anywhere.
Probably why you got an American.....It's always set to somewhere, usually the US by default..
How does one "set" one's phone please?
On iPhones it’s General Settings - Language & Region and on Android it’s Settings - System - Languages.  Look for English (UK)

On my Android I don't have system - languages but found it under settings - general management and both language and keyboard were set to English (UK), makes the American voice decision even more nonsensical.

It was only supposed to work on devices with a 4g or 5g connection, running IOS14.5 or Android 11 or better.

There was a problem with phones using the Three network not working.

My android 9 phone and ancient Iphone with a single digit IOS didn't work, but other people report they had the alert on android 8 9 and 10 devices.

2 active sims in my phone, but only received one alert... I think.
Did anyone get an alert per sim?
On reading that there was a spread of times that the alert arrived, I'd be amazed if both sims went off at the exact same time.
    Move along, nothing to see.

I really don’t know why people want to switch this off? There’s been one test. There might be another one day. How awful is that?

Apart from those who were advised to switch it off, which you may well have seen, there are those who are not bothered about receiving such notifications and don't wan't to be troubled by them.

    Individual choice.
I suppose we should celebrate the diversity of our community.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Good point, I have two Sims too but I only seem to have got one alert.

It is quite funny reading the *I don't want this - It is my rights etc. Here in Huddersfield we have Syngenta (formerly ICI) and they will be testing their siren this week.
I doubt the people hearing it are going to complain - if there is an *incident* then it is a way of warning people - the SMS message just adds to the safet.
We heard it yesterday when we were driving - don't see what all the fuss is about, our phones (depending how set up) are constantly making sound to tell us Texts and emails have arrived. In the car my phone connects hands free - seems to me that the protests are people objecting for the sake of it.
All day long we hear Emergency Services sirens and traffic - we accept them so why not these
