Santander debit cards abroad

Thanks to another member for flagging this up on the sibling Flights, Currency and Car Hire forum - just thought it might interest punters hereabouts who may have missed it.
Previously a Santander UK debit card was only fee free for local currency withdrawals in Spain (including the Balearics) and the Canaries when using a Santander branded ATM.
Now this benefit has been extended to include Germany, Poland, Portugal, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and the USA.
I have no idea how prolific such holes in the wall might be in these additional locations, although I'm reliably advised that they are common enough in Portugal which is a popular destination for Brits.
Previously the wider choice of countries had only been available to Santander fee paying cards - like their Select account.
The Santander Everyday Current Account is ideal for anybody considering embracing this opportunity for holidays - there are no strings attached, like Direct Debits or minimum monthly pay in needed - and the Santander £200 current account switch deal may still be active (?) - great if you have a surplus or dormant rarely used account to use.
That would pay for a few extra San Miguels - or whatever local brew you like to gargle.
I was thinking of posting this yesterday, but decided to hang off for obvious reasons - and no, I do not work for a financial institution, or have shares in  any.
One health warning notice - Santander debit cards are not fee free when settling up for goods and services abroad
