Seems crazy. Detached bungalow, no cavity wall insulation and I have 4 storage heaters 3.4KW, 2.2KW, 1.7KW, 1.2KW in use on various settings throughout the year (living room 18C and others 14-16C) and my off peak usage amounts to around 7500KWh and 1250KWh during the day. using prices from 1st April that works out at £160/month.
Most of that 7500 will I suspect be winter months.

So that £160, probably hides maybe summer at £80, winter at £240 etc.

The OPs £270 was "currently", I read that as winter.

in context my house with electricity and gas costs and use the average things the same without the storage heating, my bills are around £80 per month total dual fuel.
If you are still just paying £80 per month at the current energy prices, you must be an low user.

Depending where you are in the country £270 per month isn't completely OTT (although maybe a tad high) as it's just coming to the end of the winter period and last month was still quite cold at times. It could be a little high due to it being an all electric property. For comparison, while my most recent bill was £140 I know a couple of people who paid £230 and £350 (a high user, especially for gas in winter), all dual fuel.

As already mentioned, how many kwh are being used and how much per unit, according to bills/meter readings?

My only experience of this is my late mum's 2 bed flat. She was overpaying because of 3 things:

    1. R1 and R2 meter readings being transposed (always check this with E7, it's quite common).

    2. Immersion heater's thermostat faulty, causing scalding hot water and staying on too long.

    3. Electricity company estimating bills with unrealistic estimates. (Example: billing for nearly 3,000kwh of daytime usage in 1 month!  Usual daytime usage was around 2,043 for a whole year).

Check all these things, immersion might not be applicable - you'd notice the water being scalding, but the other things aren't that uncommon.

OP, £270pm on your DD is just a guess at one twelfth of your annual usage, which in reality could be lower or higher. It's not what you are actually using. So post your actual Kwh usage on each register, ideally for a 12-month period.
