Virgin Mobile - switching existing SIMs to new deal?

My wife and kids have Virgin Mobile SIMs.
In previous years, at least once or twice, when the price increases have happened, we have been able to find cheaper deals, still with VM, via comparison sites such as Uswitch or MoneySupermarket.
The handy thing has been that by making sure we were logged into our Virgin Mobile account before choosing the deal from the comparison site, we were able to effectively switch the existing SIMs to the new deal, keeping the same numbers, and without actually needing to get new SIMs.
As I remember it, at some point during the checkout process it asked if I wanted to apply the new deal to one of the existing numbers.
So now it's 1st April, and the price rises have applied, I'm trying to do the same, but I can't seem to get the option this year.
There seem to be 3 options offered - new number, transfer an old number in (with PAC code) or close old number (with STAC code).
I'm certain I didn't use a PAC code last year, and I'm pretty sure that you can't use a PAC code for staying with the same company.
I realise we will have to switch to O2 later this year, but I'd rather not do that right now.
Anyone else had the same experience this year?
Or even better, been able to make the existing customer switch work?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts / suggestions.

Couldn't get this sorted via the online checkout, or via online chat.
But I ended up calling Virgin Mobile on 0345 600 0789, and they were able to switch our SIMs to the 5GB for £5.95/month deal, so I am happy with that.0
