I wouldn’t saw a sample off, best to just knock a sample off with a hammer. But use ppe
As it’s nailed on, you’ll not be able to remove a full sheet without it snapping.
If you live near me I’ll do it for you, as I’ve less than 30 yrs to live 😂
    You beat me to it!

I haven't tried removing nails like those in the photo. How hard is it to lever them up with a chisel?  I'm a bit surprised that it's not possible to lever all the fixings out and remove the AIB as a complete sheet?

I used to know a very nice guy who did painting jobs for me. Before that he worked for the council, and for part of his time with them, he used to get bags of asbestos cement, pour it into a bucket, and mix it with water. This was absolutely routine for many years, and he used to get pretty much covered in the white powder, he told me. He has died now, but not from anything asbestos related.

Whilst asbestos is no joke, it's possible to go way OTT with worry.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Trying to lever those nails out with damage the board imo,  with multiple nails.
Ya 40 years ago  used to install church boilers had to knock the asbestos off the steal pipes to cut into them. Then wrap chicken mesh around the pipes, then mix buckets of asbestos and paste it on to relag um. Oh the joy of being ignorant.

HMS Belfast is moored in the Thames as a tourist attraction. I’ve been round, and there’s masses of asbestos round the pipes in the engine room. The only protection for the public is a good thick coat of paint.

I can remember my Dad telling me the same thing!
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'

Possible to lever the nails out but wear disposable PPE and spray areas with diluted PVA using a garden sprayer.
Agree about going OTT with worry. I don’t think it bothers a lot of trades.
    At least from my experience.

The HSE has some guidance on how to work with asbestos. https://www.hse.gov.uk/asbestos/essentials/index.htm
You mention vacuuming -  You would need a special hired vacuum and to seal it up afterwards, or you just spread the fibres around when you reuse/open the vacuum - or they go straight through a normal filter.

But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

H Class vac needed I think.
Certainly not something like an Earlex Wet & Dry as this will chuck dust back out.

To be honest, it sounds like whatever you DIY in this scenario will cause you worry.

Get a company to come in and do the test, give advice on how to proceed.  Won't cost that more than the self test.
