Virgin Media Cancellation

Options
Hi,  I tried to renegotiate my contract as a result of the 1st May 2023 increase. My contract is up in Nov 23. . I am not very good at these things and I accepted a £6 discount which effectively cancels out the £6 a month price hike. Have now realised that I could leave Virgin and go to Vodafone for a far better deal. My question is this. As I have today accepted an offer of £6 a month credit on my account can I change my mind and start the negotiation again  Thanks for any help.   thank you

I think you have 14 days in which to cancel a contract but may be wrong.

Have just been through to Virgin New Customer Retentions. They are telling me that I have no rights to a cooling off period as I yesterday accepted a £6 discount. He checked with a manager who confirms the same. I asked them where it says in the t&c's that I have lost my rights to a cooling off period but they cannot seem to answer that. I'm asking here in the hope that anyone out there would have any deeper knowledge on what they are saying is correct. I cannot find anything on the internet. Thank you very much

A new contract (over the phone or online), yes. Believe that an amendment to an existing contract is not subject to the same regulations.

OP is asking VM to remove an agreed discount so that he can re-commence haggling to try and get a better discount. Don't think that tactic usually works in the customer's favour.

Thanks flaneurs, Yea I phoned OfCom and they have now said pretty much the same thing.    Yesterday, I found the process difficult to negotiate, especially with the linguistic barriers when I first agreed to the discount.  Thanks again
