Evening turtles
Early start today, up at 6am to go riding. Haven't been out that early for a while, it was freezing! Went out with a friend on her horse, it was really nice to be social for a change.
Worked at my second job for a few hours after that, always pretty chilled out there. Was home by 2pm, had lunch, put the TV on and promptly fell asleep!
Have had a quick bath and will do dinner shortly. Hoping to have a lie in tomorrow as it's my non-working day.9 -
NSD1 in F0xh0es Towers. Did a big food shop yesterday so that should keep us going until we scarper across t' channel, and back again. Made a menu plan for up until we leave. Bought ingredients, not snacks, so I think The Grand Revolt will start by Wednesday. Using it up, not throwing it out!Soaking chickpeas and broad beans in preparation for falafel and hummus tomorrow. I now have a mega haul of ys pittas in the freezer, you see.Laundry is drying outside on the line, no heating has been on for the last 24 hours, which I am ridiculously excited about.
I am on holiday.

Hi all, Been 2 spend days so far. I went on an adventure to a big church in Hove last evening, to see a choir concert, and I am going to join!
Today I have booked a day at the Love Supreme festival - Garce Jones is the headline on the Sunday, and she is incredible live. Also tickets were bought for Brighton Pride, likely to be my last.
Sorted out easter things today and dyed my hair, batch cooked a bit.
Grateful for: the sunshine, the energy in Brighotn for the Marathon and dying my hair on the day I scheduled to!3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000

I've had an absolutely lovely day. Went downstairs to bring up a breakfast yoghurt, a bag for the cans and bottles (keep bringing them back from the bins for reuse and then i put them down whilst I'm doing something and then forget them) and to pick up the bag of clean washing that tumbled back down yesterday. Moved the things from the WM into the TD and set off another load in the WM.
Was sitting outside my front door at 9.27 am, ready for the day's adventures. walked to the bus station, waited for the 10 am bus (it was sitting on the far side of the bus station when I arrived) a fairly smooth journey except for the little free bus having changed it's route and taking me up Peter Street as far as the Palace theatre. DS2 was late - he had sent a message, so I read my book until they arrived. Straight into the special exhibition - all about how music affects us. We all enjoyed it and had great fun with the interactive bits.
After that we played with all the Experiment displays - I tried out a static bicycle (the mirror showed your bones moving). Very pleased that I could pedal. My balance isn't good enough to ride a bike but I had been wondering if static pedalling would be a helpful exercise as the good leg helps the bad one work. Just up the road for our meal and it was beautiful - we all had different roasts and baby munched through mango and cucumber sticks and some homemade eggy things whilst we waited for our food to arrive. DS2 collected up the bits that ended up on the floor.
I've had my ice cream (it had meringue and fresh raspberries in it too) - very wicked but utterly delicious. Walked back to the main road to pick up a bus. I nearly cried when DS2 suggested I could just walk 2 blocks that way and then turn and walk the one block more to the bus stop - the bit I'd done was enough, on top of what I'd done during the day (I've walked it hundreds of times in the past so didn't take kindly to him showing me on a little map on his phone). They called an uber to take me back to the bus stop for my bus home (he was only a minute away when they told me) and I gave in and gave up on the idea of finding my puzzle book.
The driver couldn't drop me at the stop (he pointed it out but if he'd gone any further, he'd have got fined) so put me down on the opposite side of the road, a little way up. This gave me the opportunity to nip into the little co-op so I did get some food, though not what I'd planned (it does the same job and I picked up a few ys items). Went to the bus stop and only had to wait about 10 minutes for the bus. Less space than I'd have liked (walker folded up in front of me) and I was in pain by then but everyone was helpful (picking up my walker and my stick when I stood up to let a little girl past me) and said it was fine when I tried to apologise for holding people up.
Ate a sandwich when I got in and then came upstairs with only one bag (moved my purse, phone and glasses out of my handbag and left that and another bag downstairs. My back's a bit better after 2 hours stretched out and I might have 2 painkillers with my evening pill.
Grateful for a lovely day with my little family and I will be seeing them at the end of the month as baby is to be Baptised. I am very pleased that they've gone with my suggested combination of their surnames for the baby - it's a very cool (iconic?) film star name. Saw banks of daffodils and lots of lovely dogs (Irish setter, guide dog in training, jolly little dogs making friends) and had smiling conversations with museum visitors and guides.9 -

You certainly met the 'adventure' criteria, grandmanerd 😎Today I am grateful for dc coping with a dance competition after yesterday's show, for watching the women's rugby, for DH taking dc to bouldering and their favourite instructor being there, for baked potato for tea, for the magnolia trees and forsythia blooming away, for chatting a neighbour who's restoring a Morris minor.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

Lovely to hear of others adventures, be that into the depths of the freezer or watching ones bones go round whilst cycling! No icecreams today, but a mini pack of mini eggs!
Woke to news my oven is broken - it's tripping the fuse and not heating up. Have previously repaired for same fault, need to contemplate doing the same or replacing it. As interim measure, have bought an airfryer, which was on the wanted list as I think it will suit the household well - being housemates rather than a family, we tend to cook at different times most days.
A lovely lunchtime and few hours with my cousin, niece and nephew. We made 16 portions of parsnip soup with an olio load of parsnips that were past their best. Lovely dinner, potatoes and carrots were from olio too, along with a cheese cake that was to be for pudding, but I've ended up putting in the freezer for another time.
Was back at my folks by 5pm, and fell asleep until about 11pm...must have needed it! Was glad I got a couple of life admin jobs done whilst at my cousin's - cancelled hellofresh, rather than skipping it repeatedly, and firmed up plans for a hotel stay using an old and much rolled over deposit. Night all!

Hello from Norway!
Had a lovely morning at home, a beautiful day. DS3 joined me in a walk to the village Coop, then I finished packing. Set off for the airport after lunch, had stopped at L1dl, as something & DS1 shouted " there's the singer from aha!" Nearly didn't have to come to Norway! 🤣 Needless to say, I didn't think he looked anything like him! Made us laugh though.
DS3 hasn't flown since he was a baby, coming home from Aberdeen after he was born, so he was very excited. Was great sharing in his enjoyment. DS,1 full of the cold, his ears blocked on the second flight, so couldn't hear much.
My friend collected us up from the airport & took us back to her flat. She's moved out to let us stay 😍 she'd left us a hollow cardboard egg on our beds, filled with sweets, & a satsuma. Was a lovely surprise!
Grateful for being on holiday, kind friends, the boys excitementUse it up, wear it out

Morning turtles
I need to catch up on your posts.
had a lovely weekend, a good one on the social connection side of things- had a chat with one of my besties who lives in NZ on Friday night, then brunch with a girl from my hoop class yesterday, a bbq at a friend’s house and a family call in the evening. I feel quite tired today though! I did manage to do some things for myself - baked a loaf of bread, found some new utoobers who I like and managed to mend a few items of clothes, quite happy about that.
grateful for another 3 day week, for some good chats and laughs with people over the weekend, for having more than enough.Student loan £5655
