I've got a 56 plate Punto and can still manage to get parts, might not be direct from Fiat, but plenty of aftermarket out there.

I was told that they extended the search to Europe and they were unable to find it. Mine is 56 plate as well and had no success.  I tried eBay & few other places with no luck so had to accept what they said. 

So what's the year, model and version of the VW? I bet someone on here will be able to find one as soon as you post them details.
