I was told that they extended the search to Europe and they were unable to find it. Mine is 56 plate as well and had no success. I tried eBay & few other places with no luck so had to accept what they said.powerful_Rogue said:Have you tried sourcing the replacement part? Ebay, breakers yards, VW forums/groups etc?I've got a 56 plate Punto and can still manage to get parts, might not be direct from Fiat, but plenty of aftermarket out there.0 -
The words they used when making an offer were that they want to buy my car and they wanted me to provide bank details to make a transfer. I agree with what you said what are they going to do with it as it's not road worthy?
Do they want your car in exchange for that money? Logic would suggest yes but at the same time what are they going to do with it.msajidshafique said:
Now after 5 months later they offered to pay the price of the car valued on autotrader,0 -

Which VW is it? I must say I find it hard to accept that a replacement isn't available. It's not like they didn't make millions of them.

I remember going into a breakers and asking for a windscreen wiper for a Larda, the guy said that seems like a fair swap

So what's the year, model and version of the VW? I bet someone on here will be able to find one as soon as you post them details.

I think they trying to find an easy outcome as it's 5-months now and trying to compensate with the minimum.HillStreetBlues said:I would be beyond amazed if it can't be sourced somewhere.
It's not that old for it to be impossible.
When I rejected the offer I told them they messed a lot and need to cover for the inconvenience that we had to face.0 -
