My rights on mobile phone purchase from Currys?

I bought two phones a couple of weeks back. I traded in old junk phones that were lying around for the trade in discount.sheramber said:Are you saying You bought two phones at full price and then traded in two old phones to get the promotion vouchers on these to buy two phones with the discount.
I then attempted the same the week after. But they cancelled the orders because of this rule.tightauldgit said:
Surely its the store's responsibility to ask when they have such non-standard terms? Its not reasonable to expect a consumer to know that without being told.born_again said:
So long as store were told that they had already used the offer the previous week for a further 2 phones.km1500 said:Your complaint is with the store
If you told them you were going to use the vouchers to buy Pixel phones, then this is all part of the contract and you can go back and get the contract cancelled and your phones back as Currys are refusing to sell you the phones.
If, on the other hand, you didn't mention Pixel phones and just swapped your phones for vouchers then you have no redress.
This is my point. I didn't know about the term. It's not on the product page! Even the term itself in the small print says you will be informed on the page but there's nothing on it about this rule.0 -
Honestly, I don’t think it’s anything to do with a limit on the amount of phones you can buy. I think that Curry’s believe there is something fishy about the purchases and possibly believe you’re re-selling. My company will also cancel orders where it’s clear customers are buying to then sell on. 4 mobile phones in a week would certainly flag on our system.1

The email says it was because of the limit. The customer services said they didn't know and thought it was a problem with my payment.screech_78 said:Honestly, I don’t think it’s anything to do with a limit on the amount of phones you can buy. It's very odd if what you're saying is right. It's four phones, not fifty. I did this two years ago with Samsung when they were doing a great deal on S21s. No issues at all and we all got fancy phones we normally wouldn't. I thought I'd repeat that and it's turned in to a right mess.
Regardless though I haven't done anything wrong. I'm not a mind reader. If you want to put restrictions in place then inform your customers of them.

I don't think you can rely on the individual in a chain store remembering who they served and what they bought two weeks previously.Hurley said:The fella knew, it was the same guy who served me the previous week.0 -
What difference does it make? It's their job to inform me, not the other way around.Grumpy_chap said:

Plus he did know, we spoke about it.0 -
Where are you finding all of these old junk trade-ins? You had four of them to trade in within a few weeks? How many phones do you have just lying around the house.0

Did the OP try just asking the sister to buy the last two phones?
If that works, the issue is resolved.
The OP seems to want to blame the store / staff when there is an easy potential solution.0 -
I had five. Two remaining. Why?WhiskersTheWonderCat said:Where are you finding all of these old junk trade-ins? You had four of them to trade in within a few weeks? How many phones do you have just lying around the house.0 -
If you'd read the thread you'd know I've already asked Currys whether that's possible and they've not given an answer.Grumpy_chap said:Did the OP try just asking the sister to buy the last two phones?

You'd also be able to determine, if you can follow basic English, that IT IS their fault because they've not told me or anyone for that matter about this term. Hence why I've made this thread to ask for advice.0 -
They do not need to tell you, they need to provide you with the terms and conditions, either by publishing them with the offer (on the website) and/or displaying them in store depending on the method of purchase.Hurley said:

You seem to have decided that it is their fault, but you are not the one who gets to decide, that is down to consumer rights legislation.1
