I think point 3 refers to "digital bundles" so I would imagine that clarifies it for you.

Regarding "signed and dated" statements, I have recently been advising a friend of a friend on their claim and every document they had to sign, they just typed their name on the document and this was accepted by the courts.

Thanks for confirming. I will likely sign it and scan it anyway to be consistent.

But the exemplar WS linked in the NEWBIES thread
On this it lists Exhibits as 'Exhibit xx-01' etc. I notice that throughout this document the OP has removed details with x's. Is there some formatting standard in regard to the Exhibit x's that I'm missing here do you know?

Typically exhibits are labelled with the initials if the owner followed by a sequential number.

So for example, someone named Buttery Crumpet might label their exhibits BC-01, BC-02, BC-03, etc.
  • On the exemplar in the newbies thread it repeats the defence. Would I do the same and change it to be first person? On page 4 of this thread is the most recent version of mine.

On the exemplar it says "26. The Claimant stated that (See paragraph 26)".  I cannot find where this applies to in the document, can it be that it refers to itself?
  • Do you mean the following?:-

"26.The Claimant stated that (See paragraph 26)....'Enforcement action may occur additional costs'.But the Claimant merely shows in evidence."

As you can see the Defendant refers to the Claimant's WS they have received  -   probably coincidence both happen to be same para number.

I guess so, I just found it peculiar. I guess I'm also suprised the claimant had provided a WS for the defendant to consider in their WS. I might leave submission later then in that case.

Am I right in thinking that if the court date is the 2nd of October and I have 14 days prior to that I can submit no later than end of the day 18th September?

The court will have told you the deadline.

Look again at your Notice of Allocation. The Notice that gives the hearing date.
Is there not a paragraph something like:
Each party must deliver to every other party and to the court office copies of all documents on which he intends to rely at the hearing no later than [ . . . ] [14 days before the hearing].
    Might be on the back.
Those 'documents on which you intend to rely' are your Witness Statement and evidence.
  • It states 'Each party must deliver to the other party and to the court office copies of all documents on which that party intends to rely at the hearing no later than fourteen days before the hearing (these should include the letter making the claim and any reply).'

That is where I got the 14 from.

OK, I misunderstood your question earlier. Sorry about that.

Are you really asking what date is fourteen days before 2nd October?

On the exemplar in the newbies thread it repeats the defence.
    Does it? Where?

Maybe the end bit about costs?

Does the wording in baz417's WS repeat word for word, what your defence said?  If it does, remove those odd paragraphs only, to avoid exact repetition.

You obviously need 3 of baz's exhibits because they are standard for all cases.

"On page 4 of this thread is the most recent version of mine."

If you want your WS and evidence list reviewed please re-post it as we won't look back. No time to do that, sorry! The forum is too busy.  We only read and reply to current replies.
