EOn next direct debits

Hi I’m just helping mom with her bills, she’s with EON Next for gas and electricity.  They’ve been reducing her direct debit by the 66-67 for the last 6 months.  As such given this is ending was expecting them to increase the dd again by the 67.00. However  she’s had an email reminding her of the dd amount being claimed on 3 April and has not been increased by the 67.00 it’s the same as they took in January and February)

In fact I have cross checked their annual estimated usage for both and divided by 12 and the direct debit amount is too low. In fact the direct debit is too low by 67 a month, add the 67 to what they state the dd to and that does work out.

Does any one know if they are going to increase the dd back automatically (and just not notified her correctly) or are customers going to have to change it themselves?

  • I've had the same, I'm assuming they are taking my credit into account. I shall amend my direct debit as I'd rather preserve my credit until its a bit clearer what future costs will look like next winter

How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

thanks for the replies, i appreciate it.   its defiantly not a large amount of credit she has had on this one causing her to not have the dd increased, as of now the account is in debit (not by much, - £89 which will be cleared by the next direct debit.

will amend the dd myself for her next week once this one is out on Monday (in case it messes up anything with this one)

My Eon direct debit is showing that they will be taking zero in 3 days time (1st April). They show that I am in credit by a huge amount but in reality I actually owe them a couple of hundred pounds. This is due to not having received a single bill since I was moved to them due to my previous supplier going bust in October 2021.
I was expecting my DD for next month onwards to go back to what it was prior to the £400 rebate, so if it doesn't change in the next few days I will be making a change online to suit myself i.e. to cover my projected use in the next year PLUS what I know I actually owe them.
