Hi everyone I am new to this forum,My son recently booked a holiday and i needed some advice. My son is 16yrs old and decided to book a holiday for him & myself,I am a single mum and work for the NHS as a cleaner,I have struggled to provide for my son and get no help from his father. My son received money for Xmas and his birthday so paid for the holiday with his own money,When I found out I explained that we couldn't afford the holiday and that we would have to cancel the holiday,it was booked through on the beach for 6th sep-19th sep flying from Edinburgh to Orlando International and staying at the rosen inn,I contacted on the beach to say that we were cancelling the holiday, they explained that the hotel could be cancelled, but to cancel the flights I would need to pay for them in full as on the beach pay for the flight's in full when the holiday is booked,I contacted them to request a refund for the flight's but they said the flight are non-refundable which means I have paid for 2 flights that I will not even use,has anyone got any advice on what to do next as I feel like on the beach has taken my money and don't seem to want to help, any advice appreciated.

Unfortunately it's not uncommon for flights to be non-refundable and that means exactly what it says, so if that's what was booked then cancelling won't affect the need to pay in full for the flights.
Having said that, if your 16 year old son made a booking with him as lead passenger, and declared his age while doing so, that might allow the contract to be voided as invalid, but that's a bit of a long shot....4 -
Already tried going down that route but he put my name as lead passenger,so nothing could be done....0

Presumably he also used your debit/credit card. That being the case there really is nothing you can do, the vast majority of flights sold by On The Beach and similar are non-refundable. They may agree to change the date, at a cost, but that's not really going to fix your problem. If your son did the booking without your knowledge and agreement, and you can prove that, there may be legal routes to follow. That could impact on your son later on down the line.0
