"Apparently they are thicker than they used to be but slightly smaller in diameter. "Is that to enable low profile tyres, I wonder?2

There's a (very) long running thread over on the 'Groceries' board about the topic of 'shrinkflation' https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4765235/the-great-shrinking-food-and-other-items-hunt/1
2010 's 36 gms
2020's 37gms
In 1980's it shrank in diameter from 79mm to 74 mm

We online shop with Tesco since covide but twice a week top-up our shopping needs often via Morrisons
We all know food prices have and are rocketing
We are all aware that many times most companies will reduce the size of a packet of goods but the price is same or higher
Today as often th case Morrisons croissants the fresh baked one at 39p each. I'm not sure if their dough machine
was broken but the size of these has been reduced by at least 33% and my OH agreed. I often have two with lunch and a snack with two more at about 4pm. Ate
three of them and they looked like a baby portion
Has anyone else noted this, please? If it is a size reduction, that is not good as they should have kept the size the same and upped it to 50/60p
but I guess more people would have realised and avoid. I will get them from another outfit next time
Rant over.Eating 4 croissants in a day?
The 33% reduction might be a benefit to you.Thnak me later.2 -
The very misleading shrinkflation example I saw recently was comfort fabric conditioner.

Described an an XL pack at 2.49 litres. Fair enough, it is quite a large bottle. However, the last time I bought it, it wasn’t described as an XL pack and it was 3 litres. So the packaging implies the bottle has got bigger, when it has actually got smaller. And the price has increased too.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j2 -
Lidl croissants are much better than Morrisons and now at least double the size for half the money
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.1 -

Two WITH lunch rather than AS lunch and then another two WITH a snack rather than AS a snack a few hours later strikes me as rather excessive consumption calory wise - perhaps it's a good job they're shrinking in size!
We don't have a Morrisons nearby so can't comment on their offerings.
My go-to choice for croissants is Lidls in-store bakery ones.
I think you owe her an apology. And maybe next time if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all.
