I have booked room for two nights stay and the housekeeper come into my room while was out and cleaned all off it and threw away my personal belongings because she thought room was unoccupied lucky enough got my super dry jacket back with my nhs badge but they threw away my GU cheesecakes and stuff from Fridge and claimed it was out off date when I only bought them night before and has good lifespan on it also Asda choc milkshakes they binned from fridge. My clean socks and usb for my laptop also gone missing so walking round with wet socks now. Housekeeping supervisor see. Me said sorry and walked away. I have really bad anxiety issues and fear off getting my stuff pinched. I made a complaint but since this is first time do not know what to say or do because did mention can get refund on my stay but they just say they be in touch. Also mention to night manager that where are signs saying do not disturb he never answer that question

I don't see why you would be justified for a refund for your stay, but they ought to reimburse you for the items they chucked out.

Sounds very odd that they’d clear the room, especially when all your clothes and belongings are still there? Are you sure they have you booked in for two nights? You hear stories of people that stop a single night, trash the room and leave, perhaps they thought this was the situation here.
Would certainly be looking for some recompense for the lost/stolen items

I would agree. Something doesn’t add up.

What did the duty manager or front desk staff say when you reported this?

Also my room was so clean and looks like no one slept there but just upset that housekeeper boss handle it when trying to explain

So are you happy with that outcome?

How relevant was the four star comment in the title?

It’s obvious when a room is occupied or someone has left a few things behind.  I’d be furious and hopefully you have got back all your clothes etc.  Where were your bags or luggage?  Your toiletries?  I’d try for more than £10.

I have only one bag and always carry my laptop and things inside them because dont like leaving them at places and this weekend made my fear come true i can understand happens in 1 star to 3 star hotels but dont expect it from 4 star known hotels. I do not know what happened with there mistake. I did ask about why there not signs saying do not clean my room and such.

I got my nhs badge back and my jacket but usb and socks and food are in the bin they said because something about out off date  and only bought them after checked in

It's a mistake, have you never made one? They've offered to refund the cost of the removed items and an additional £10, I don't think you'll get any more out of them. I'm unsure why you left your USB in the room when you'd taken your laptop with you, why didn't you pack that as well?
