Plusnet contract ending, house move in couple months..

Hi all,
Received email from Plusnet - BB contract ending 26 April, and then price will go from 21.50 to 46.17 . They can offer me an 18 month contract @ 21.99, but i am in process of moving house, hopefully completion will be early June.
So i dont want to get stuck in another contract prior to house move ( unless they can port it from one address to another - if thats a thing ? ) So i'm thinking i will have to suck up the price increase for a month or two - any alternative ?
Ta

thought about using something like the smarty 16 quid unlimited data sim which is on only 30 day contracts - cancel at any time if its crap or you are done with itMost phones have hotspot options and the speed can be way better than some landlines. I get around 4m down and around 1.8 meg up- and it should tide you over at your new place to0

oops - thats about 38-40mbit down and 18mbit up in isp parlancemay be more or less than that where you are0

Just take the price increase for a couple of months and then cancel.
You can get very good cashback deals on new contracts through Quidco and Topcashback which will more than offset the additional cost of your 2 months with Plusnet.

TBH , unless you are moving to an address that Openreach cannot supply , then you should be able to do a ‘home mover’ with Plusnet, TBH, most providers will offer such a service, so if you are happy with the renewal price , then you shouldn’t really have any worries about simply taking your service to the new address, with the caveats , obviously the speed available may be different, coukd be better or worse, and there is a small chance OR do not have network to that address , but even if that is the case , it’s one of the reasons you can be excused early termination charges….obviously some may chose to keep their options open and pay more for a few months , but if you are generally happy , I would renew and take the home mover service
If a phone service is required, you may not be able to take the number , but a new provider would probably give a you new number anyway1 -
Just to update, spoke to Plusnet, if i take the new 18 month contract ( which is only 49 pence a month more than current payment ) then when the house move happens i can move the service over to new address ( as iniltous referred to ). - Plusnet checked postcode for new address and confirmed can supply there.I take Neil's point about getting a good deal on brand new contract with TCB etc, but to be honest i have been happy with Plusnet's service, the price is ok, and it will be one less thing to have to deal with at the new place ( hopefully ! )Ta for the feedback anyway.2

Not sure that Samknows is particularly useful anymore. eg my exchange is showing as virtually everything ( bar Virgin) as available but my exchange moved into a status of "fibre priority" about 6 months ago ,so the only service available to a new subscriber is FTTP.
Can't even move my FTTC service to another ISP.
Better off checking the exchange status at BT Broadband (btwholesale.com) if you can find the existing property phone number (or a neighbours)0 -
I've been with PN a very long time and did a house move with them about 14 years ago.. Due to the internal wiring at the new property, it took a month or so to sort out a stable internet connection, but PN were great in helping me do so0

If accurate that list shows FTTP , PN until recently didn’t offer FTTP , so in that situation you would have been released from contract , as OR will only provide FTTP once it’s available, but PN are now offering FTTP so that’s irrelevant anyway , but the good news is whatever speed profile you purchase, you will get that speed in full , no reduction in speed down to distance from the cab or the exchange depending on if you currently have FTTC or ADSL0
