    Good news that there’s another building society launching an app. I’m guessing it’s going to be similar to the likes of Yorkshire or Skipton Building Society. Quite basic - but does everything you need it to. My local Coventry branch is a great distance away so being able to 100% open and manage accounts online or by phone would be great, and open up opportunities for me to use them more.

    My nearest Coventry branch is hours from where I live. I have been happily applying for and managing many Coventry accounts entirely online for years, and I can't recall that I ever needed to ring them. I find the online login a bit cumbersome but am delighted that I don't have to use their old bingo card any longer......Here is hoping that the app will do away with the need for online banking.

    as you say, you do not need to use their 'bingo card' to log into online banking but you do need to use it when you call them
