Apologies ! I normally play it safe and go for 'they', but forgot this time :D
I had Band7 down as a nailed-on male! I can't explain why though, I mean it's not as if I also presumed she is white, for example.
... we don't want to go any further with this @nottsphil :) .

Just thought I'd check exactly when the increased rate was applied to my account, but seems no-one can tell me. I got the email talking about "within the next 5 working days" from 24th March but as I am working out tax implications for the current year I'd just as soon have the accurate dates and figures. After chatbot a friendly operator has obviously been asked the same question many times, as he apologised but couldn't give me the info. I was logged in, so he could see what I'm seeing, but there's only a reference to my current rate of 3.25%. With Saffron for instance I can look back at different issues and rates for closed accounts and find the exact date any issue's rate was changed. Does anybody know a) was there a date from which all accounts had the new rate? or b) If anyone has found out, can I ask how?

Mine increased to the new rate on 25/03/23. I tend to check my finances daily so I'd be reasonably confident this was accurate... for my account at least. Let's see if anyone else confirms the same date.

Account holders should be due a statement this month according to the T&Cs... "Statements are issued annually in April in Online Banking."

I received an e-mail about the Santander eSaver Limited Edition (issue 1) interest rate increase on the 24th March.

The new rate was applied to my account from the early hours of the 25th March 2023.  I check my Santander accounts on a daily basis towards the end of each month, as I have quite a few direct debits setup on my CA for cashback.

Happy that rates are getting better and don't have to kee moving funds to different accounts for better rates.

I can also confirm new rate applied to my account from 25.3.23. (old rate shown on account on 24.3.23, new rate from 25.3.23).

Thanks everyone. I'll base my figures on an estimate of 25th, day after the email. I gather from the chat feedback I've had that Santander staff have been fielding similar customer queries, and couldn't give an answer. They are embarrassed. Hopefully next time they'll pick a date or annotate every account with the date the rate changed.

Does anyone know if/when Santander issue interest summaries (tax certificates) for their accounts ?

I'm set up for paper-free banking and have the recently-issued annual eSaver statement (for the period up until 5th April) - would that be enough for HMRC if this info was needed, despite it not being an official tax document ?

They do eventually. I just enter interest paid into a spreadsheet. HMRC will have the interest statements anyway.

The likelihood that HMRC will ever ask to see any documentation is slim to none.
