You are comparing  Santander's AER with Kroo's gross. Kroo will pay 3.33% AER from 1st April.

Glad I kept mine open with £1, it's updated rate now for me. Not bothering signing up with new banks/savings anymore like Kroo with larger sums.

I have to ask why you haven’t moved your money out to somewhere else? You can easily achieve 3.2% and it would take you just a few minutes to open an account with somewhere like Atom, or even Marcus (only 3%) if you wanted web based rather than app, both of which use immediate Faster Payments. You are throwing money away!

I can't really dispute this . I have already done a partial ISA transfer out of Santander, mainly due to the need to diversify my savings but also due to the fact that they had not yet raised their cash ISA rates.

I have been with them for decades but this is the last straw - I don't see any signs that they will be raising their eSaver issue 21 rates anytime soon :'( . I have an aversion to "app only" banks and I'm reluctant to use newer outfits - I've leaning towards the Coventry BS limited access saver.

Their 18 months rate topped the market in November, and does so again now. They are currently joint second on the 2- and 3-year rate, joint leader for easy access rate, and top on the 1-year one.
  • still below boe rate of 4.25%... very annoying to get near this rate have to fix, but with floater money in CA getting nothing i guess this is the best we're gonna get.

I wish I still had my Family Building Society Windfall Bonds. They'd be paying 4.25% now!

in my personal experience, Santander eSaver when combined with Santander current Account is truly instant.

I still have mine but never seem to win anything - I'm now holding 80k.  When i first invested only 10k I won 1k within a few months - back in 2017.  Since then I have increased holdings but not won a sausage.  However the interest rate is always competitive so at least I am getting something for the 80k

You did well! I held £70k for probably a couple of years, never won a sausage, and when the interest rate dropped to 0.1% I cashed them in. I still keep £5k in the Halifax at a poultry interest rate for their Savers Prize Draw. Never won that either!
