Natwest missed payments error

Options
Hi Due to an administrative error with my salary in 2021 I wasn't
paid.  I contacted Natwest and they agreed to one month payment holiday.  With no money for a whole month when I did get paid I struggled with catching up.
I went into a arrangement to pay back my mortgage arrear in November 2022 and the areas have now been paid in full (January 2023).
I then noticed on my credit file that Natwest had put a missed payment from me in June 2022.  I hadn't missed a payment and contacted them.  They confirmed there was no missed payment in June 2022 and they would remedy this error.
A few days after this I rechecked my credit file and Natwest have now put I have 9 missed mortgage payments from October 2021 until June 2022 on my credit file.
I'm absolutely distraught as we have missed out on a new home because I've now got a Very Poor credit score.  I've complained again but it's like banging my head.
I've been waiting for a response from Natwest since 24/02/23.
I can't contact the Financial Ombusman until it's been 8 weeks from my initial complaint date.
TransUnion are also useless.
Has anyone else had this experience? Any further advice on what to do?
TIA

How many payments did you miss?

Remember that any agreed missed payments or shortfall is a missed payment. There were clearly some, as you mention being in arrears.

You're not missing out on your mortgage due to a very poor credit score, but the missed payments. You need to clarify whether any of these are inaccurate.

Why did a delay in one month's pay mean that you were unable to pay the arrears for more than a year? Surely as soon as you were paid, which would have been twice in one month, would have meant that you were immediately able to bring your account up to date?

You really need to establish what the actual agreement was (if any), but if you were behind then it would potentially have shown as a missed payment.

Your credit score is a meaningless number, no lender ever sees it and it is just a marketing gimmick for thr CRAs. You were denied borrowing because you credit report showed missed payments and an account being in arrears.

Complaints can take some time to resolve, make sure you have all your documentation and records in order and that you 100% are complaining about something that is genuinely their error.

That is correct, unless they issue a deadlock letter, but they will not unless they have had adequate time to resolve the issue.

The CRAs can only report the information they are given, they are not being "useless" because they refuse to do what you want them to do.

Whether other people have or have not is irrelevant.

What you need to do whilst you wait for their response is to make 100% sure your complaint is valid, remember that them factually reporting the status of the account in a way you do not like is not a valid complaint. If they do not resolve your complaint to your satisfaction then you can take it to the ombudsman, they will make a judgement based on the facts.
