No broadband available to my address from anyone

Had a problem ordering Sky broadband recently so thought I'd try Now but it came up as unavailable, tried Vodaphone, Openreach, other suppliers and checkers all say not available. I've just moved into the house and there is an Openreach box on the wall and previous owner had a Vodaphone hub. Oddly my neighbours addresses all come up as available. Sky gave me the warning message less than 10mg speed however neighbours all come up as normal fast speeds from all suppliers. Any idea what's going on?

Perhaps no capacity?0

I had this when I moved house. I ended up going with Three broadband which is provided by a SIM card rather than a landline. It’s actually the best broadband I’ve ever had and reasonably priced too.User name should now read NowWhereIWantToBe

It could be that your exchange has moved into a status of "fibre priority" where Openreach don't allow any new orders to be be placed based on copper products (ie ADSL or FTTC) .
IF this is the case you should be able to order full fibre, but there have been reports of exchange areas that have changed status before a full roll out of fibre in the area is available.
Check your exchange at BT Broadband (btwholesale.com)0 -
Starlink may be an option, although at £75 pcm it is not very money saving.

Just tried the BT Broadband checker and it couldn't determine a broadband for my address. Tried neighbour and all the details came up, not fibre priority0

My address doesn't come up on 3 home broadband checker. Had a look at the Openreach box today, its an ADSL V1.0 box and plugged my landline in and there is a dial tone. Also coming through the wall is an ethernet patch cable.0 -
Is 4G/ 5G an option?0

You don't need a traditional bb provider, just mobile reception.
Pick up a mifi unit from Argos, Amazon or direct from the mobile provider and then get a sim-only contract for unlimited data with max speed and no throttling with whichever networks get minimum 4g signal at your house. Plug the mifi unit in somewhere central in your house, pop in the sim and that's it.
We've had the above (using a Vodafone unlimited data sim) in our pretty large house for the last 4 years and it works perfectly. Wifi signal in every room, tv streaming Disney+, etc, , Mrs working from home with 2 computers on all day. No problems. You don't get full fibre speeds but fast enough for us. You can experiment with different mobile data providers to see which is fastest before taking out a contract as they all sell pre-loaded data sims.''He who takes no offence at anyone either on account of their faults, or on account of his own suspicious thoughts, has knowledge of God and of things devine.''1 -
Where are you based?
We are zone 1/2 London but our area is known as a pain because most the properties are copper direct to the exchange and so no option of FTTC because there is no cabinet and ADSL was 1-2Mbps speeds. For all the flats around here they come prewired for Hyperoptic... for the older ones its just an ethernet cable sticking out the wall, for the newer ones its a branded ethernet socket.
The fact your neighbours appear to be ok suggests something else is afoot but you mention an ethernet cable sticking out the wall0 -
Don't worry about Three home broadband. Just get a standard Three sim with a deal that gives enough data each month.
You can buy a broadband router cheap enough off eBay (usually aroud £50), but before doing that, try a PAYG sim of the network of your choice, in your phone, to see how fast it works at your location.0
