I get £135pw in lncldng Sevvere Disablement Allowance.  Yes all my figures are correct. Support group higher rate mobility and care.
I am still not completely clear how your ESA is made up. It would be clearer if you provided a breakdown of your existing payment.

I’m not sure what you mean by Severe Disablement Allowance.

The ESA existing amounts contribution based only with standard allowance and Support Group amounts to £117.60 but this would be reduced by your pension income. Your opening post says you get NHS pension £10,600. That is £203.84/week which is £118.84 over £85 and that would reduces any contribution ESA by £59.42/week (and the pension would reduce any income based ESA entitlement in full).

Any income based Enhanced Disability premium that would be an extra £17.75/week but that would be income based and cancelled by your pension.

If you get paid £135/week I therefore assume you are stilled getting you transitional protection but it must be a very substantial one to still £135 after the pension deduction.

Any ESA basic calculation will get a 10.1% increase in April to the maximum entitlement calculation but any ongoing transitional protection will reduce.

Note too that your NHS pension will also increase which will increase the pension deduction on ESA - you must change ESA each time the pension increases (gross amount).

As because tax threshold has been frozen your tax will unfortunately go up.

I am confused about your calculation. As per my initial comment it would be easier to comment if you said clearly how your ESA award and payment is calculated.

On the positive you will get at least get the 10.1% increase on PIP.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

If the transfer from IB to ESA included the contribution amount of ESA including the Support Group topping up with a transitional additional top up (also contribution DLA awarded) to ensure the total of the ESA was not less than the previous amount of IB. Each year as the standard elements increased the transitional amount was reduced such that the total ESA remained unchanged. If the transitional has eventually reduced to nil the ESA would then just have been based on the standard elements and that would then have rises as these increased.

Pension income would have likely meant no intention to any income based ESA.

The contribution based ESA payable is also reduced by 50% of any pension over £85/week.
Hi it looks like my timing is out.. i was actually changed from IB in April 2015 to 2016.

I was put in Support group for higher rate mobility and care.

I was reassessed in 2019, where my  NHS Pension was £192.18pw according to their letter. They got that figure from writing to NHS Pensions.

In 2019 i was diagnoseed with 2 life limiting conditions and was awarded extra money because they classified me as severely disabled amounting to
£66.95. Plus  Disability income guarantee £17.10. Extra money because i was in Support Group of £39.20 equalling £197.60.

Other income which was my NHS PENSION £181.13.

    Minus the two equals £16.47.

The letter states that because im entitled to Contibutions based ESA we will pay you £135.39.

Included in this is a top up payment of £21.84 so i will not see a drop in my benefit.

I think this is now beginnng to make sense hopefully. 🤔

    Hi all
I have a complex medical history and was medically retired from Nursing in1994.

In 2002 pain program encouraged me to claim Incapacity Benefit and i was awarded higher rate for health and mobility.
My ealth has continued to decline and in 2012 i was moved from IB to contributions based ESA. I have not seen an increase in this award since it commenced in 2012.

I Have  a mortgage and my main income is my NHS Pension  £10,600.

I also am on higher award for PIP health and mobilty.

I have spoken to DWP but didnt really understand their rationale for no yearly increments.

I would be very grateful if someone could shed some light.Thank you

Has your NHS pension increased with some element of inflation protection each year?
It goes up each year thats all i know.

Whilst most Transitional Additions from the IB/IS 'migration' have now been exceeded by rises in ESA there are still some in payment. (Mainly because of the benefits freeze from 2016 to 2020 meant ESA rates didn't rise).
For those still in payment then until standard rates of ESA catch up and 'erode' the TA there will be no increase in payments.
You may have noticed some discussion about 'erosion' of the Transitional Element that those who will be managed migrated to from ESA to UC will get.
It's nothing new as this sitation with the Transitional Addition from IB/IS to ESA shows.
Transitional Additions/Elements have always eroded over time.
It was actually 2015 to 2016 that i was moved from IB to ESA. Apologies

As I said in my last comment I do not be able to make anything else without a clear explanation of how your current ESA payment is being calculated.

Your impact of your NHS on your ESA was mentioned in a number of replies but you have made no comment of your ESA calculations.

It has just occurred to me that were you already receiving your NHS pension before you were transferred from IB to contribution based ESA then I think the pension may ignored for contribution based ESA - however I haven’t located the legislative background and I therefore cannot confirm whether or not this possible application applies.

In their first post the OP says they claimed IB in 2002, I believe the change in pension income rules was from 6.4.01........
