In Q4 of 2022 complaints were running at 2742 per 100000 customers, with 10 million customers that is a lot of complaints in one quarter and I think may prove to be getting worse. I would consider that a liability on a business and not a reason for bonus payments.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0

Have you tried talking to British Gas about your refund?1

Many many times and their staff seem unable to process it because of the state of their system at the present,I have seen other posters refer to it being like Groundhog Day dealing with them at the moment, and I tend to agree.matt_drummer said:Have you tried talking to British Gas about your refund?
I have escalated it to the Ombudsman but have a feeling they may be getting a influx of complaints which will take a while to work through.
I intend to leave it for a couple of more weeks before I go down the letter before action route, but it is a sad state of affairs were a customer of forty two years has to contemplate such a course of action.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0 -
How much are you owed if you don't mind saying?0

Apparantly the head of the company isn't responsible for the performance of its customer services...

Hi,
Are you sure that he is the head of British Gas, I thought we were talking about the head of Centrica?prowla said:Apparantly the head of the company isn't responsible for the performance of its customer services...
Of course your use of the word "responsible" is also highly ambiguous as it means different things to different people.

Can you imagine dealing with millions of customers for around 2% profit?prowla said:Apparantly the head of the company isn't responsible for the performance of its customer services...
They make a lot of money purely as a number, but as a percentage of turnover it's tiny.
I think they all get a pretty rough ride trying to deal with all of this, it can't be easy.0 -
How much are you owed & why are you owed it?Eldi_Dos said:

So a major retailer has lost a sale and the Chancellor will not be getting his cut either, so these things have ripple effect on the general economyPlay with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0 -

Many customers on fixed monthly payments have a credit on their account for a lot of the time, it's kind of how it works.
If this was owed to you in October are you sure that some of it hasn't been used up over the winter when your usage was probably higher than the preceding period when you built up the credit balance?0
