Octopus outgoing agile v fixed

I am currently on octopus outgoing agile - i signed up to this before they increased fixed to 15p/kwh

Now it has increased I feel I would be better off on this tariff. I only managed to get this all sorted out in about September so wasn't able to benefit from the solar panels in the summer? I know noone knows for sure but is it likely that agile prices will start to go up again or is it best now to be on fixed?

Keen for opinions

Switch to fixed, if it's not working out you can always change back. A phone call or tweet should be able to sort it instantly.

Right now, the UK has quite a bit of wind, so Outgile Agile rates will be depressed. This always changes as the seasons do.

I have switched back and forth between the two tariffs and it wasn't an instant process at all, so I've left all export on Agile for now.

Rang Octopus today and switched to Flux. They sent an email with t&c for me to accept and the new tariff was showing in my online account within minutes.

I previously switched between Agile & Fixed a couple of times and always found it was done quickly.

I bet you're pleased now the weather has improved, but makes the Octopus saving session more complicated. I've also now switched to Flux after weeks of it being better than Agile. Yesterday Flux was 2-3 times Agile for most of the day.

Yes, me and hubby just had the convo, not going to bother trying to shift use into the 2.30-5.30pm slot today although we have opted in. Will probably run dishwasher then but it's unlikely to need grid power

Would be too much of a battle with the (hopefully) solar generation, battery will be already full etc. It was a game best played on bleak winter days.

I was wondering if someone could enlighten me here. My MPAN has just come through and so I am on the standard Octopus 4.1p rate. If I choose to change to one of the other outgoing options do these impact my import tariff ? I am struggling to understand why Octopus would give me 15p instead of 4.1p without making it up elsewhere !

You can get the 15p export rate unless you're on Go or Intelligent for supply.

The "catch" is that you have to be an Octopus electricity supply customer (except the smart tariffs Alnat1 mentioned) to get the 15p rate.

I have been on agile outgoing since the start but rates are rubbish lately so I've switched to fixed, I only averaged 11p last month.
