Agreed the bbc isn't worth it but unfortunately you still need to pay the TV tax if you watch anything as live on a TV, computer or phone0

Obviously opinions are somewhat subjective, but this comment is just utter tosh!I’d say your comment is utter tosh, but like you said, opinions are subjective. Apart from the occasional David Attenborough, there is nothing else. So I stand by virtually nothing.
The only time the TV is used in my house is for Netflix and my partner watching Love Island on demand (ITVx). My mother watches foreign TV reruns on youtube and the like and never turns her TV on. It's not even a smartTV.

Always makes me chuckle when they talk about the investigation, yet they don't even know my name yet, as you say, they are always addressed to the 'legal occupier'.Names have power. And TVL are going to look pretty darned stupid standing in front of a judge trying to get the "legal occupier" of any property convicted.Somehow they have my name on both, even though I haven't lived at my mothers house for nearly 20 years and it's my partner's name on all the utility bills at my house.I'll make some complaints to my MP and TVL to get them to stop sending me junk mail and have a read through that TVL thread as well.Thanks!0 -
The BBC's business model is shocking......"subscribe to us or we send the heavy mob round!"
My interests are mainly drama (particularly the latest US shows), history and movies......so there's nothing on the BBC of any interest at all. (I've got no interest in gameshows, cooking shows, chat shows, antique shows, reality tv or soaps!!)
Yet ludicrously if I want to watch Sky Movies, or History or Discovery channels on live tv I have to pay the BBC £159 (soon to rise to £172).
So I got rid of the live tv, now rely on streaming or DVD bargains.
BBC still tries to harass me every so often though......

I don't get how Sky gets away with it too. BBC say the licence fee is so they don't need to have advertising. You pay a subscription to Sky yet it's like 50% adverts and a licence fee. How many times can they double dip?0

Just filled out the declaration that we don't need a TV licence for the second time this year. Their form is riddled with so many mistakes, it's like someone created it and thought "That's a mornings work. Done for the day..."Grammatically incorrect options to select from, For Example/Such As statements followed by blank lines, more threats that the max fine in Guernsey is £2000 despite my address being in Scotland, etc.Such scum, it's like you're guilty until proven innocent.0

It's just another part of the elaborate TVL fishing expedition. So, all manner of errors and non sequiturs can be expected.

It's just another part of the elaborate TVL fishing expedition. So, all manner of errors and non sequiturs can be expected.I've filled it out in the past and stopped receiving all letters and no enforcement plonker ever came round. At least not that I'm aware of since my flat was generally unoccupied during the day.Even with my name, they can't do anything anyway. Their goons can waste a journey up 4 flights of stairs and have a door closed in their face, assuming I even open it. If they try to force their way in, my dog will make light work of them.I just hate receiving junk mail as I don't believe my local council recycles paper.0 -
After years of TV licence threatening letters, I sent them a handwritten letter denying 'implied right of access' to my property. They have left me alone for over ten years now.0

I simply throw them in the bin unopened
Any salesman (which is exactly all they are) turns up at the door then i simply say goodbye and close it.1
