Selling DVD/books etc

Options
I realise it's probably like flogging a dead horse these days but which (if any) is the best app to use to get rid of books/DVD's etc I'm moving so really looking to clear what I have if I get anything for it, it's a bonus.
Can;t be bothered to do a boot sale or take photos of each item and list on ebay or facebay (too many time wasters)
I think I tried an app a few years back, without much success so I'm wondering if there is a new one out there they may be better,

There have been several threads on here in the same vein. It seems to depend on what you are selling as to whether you will get a good price or not
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

To be honest these are not recent DVD's films from the 90's and early 00's. I've got books from my childhood but these don't even have a bar code. I don't really want to thro them away but I can't have them taking up space.
Same with my football programmes. I feel my only choice is a boot fair on a Sunday morning.

You'll probably struggle to even give DVDs away - I had to clear out a load recently for a deceased relative and couldn't even find a charity shop willing to take them. Most have ended up in landfill at the local dump.
I had more luck with the books, although several places rejected them on the grounds  that 'people just don't read anymore' (!).
I eventually found a charity shop that specialised in books and were very grateful to take them all off my hands.

Again, we had no luck with several boxes of 20-30 year old football programmes. I approached the relevant Supporters club to offer them but was told that there was no demand for them, only for ones dating from the 1960's and earlier, so they all ended up in the paper recycling bin...

I used the musicmagpie app to scan some DVDs.  After I had gone through about 30 I had a total of just over £2 with a number being rejected.  Not worth the effort.

I gave them to a local charity shop who do still take DVDs and books. They sell them for £1 each.

Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

If you're really struggling you could send for free to Oxfam, they take books, VHS tapes, DVD's, music cassettes.

Books are worth putting through the Ziffit and Webuybooks apps.  Usually more generous than Music Magpie.

Yeah I tried both, the trouble is these are from my childhood and most of them don't have bar codes.
I always think they are valuable as they are so old but it's not the case it seems. I know DVD's wouldn't be valuable but I have sports programmes and books/annuals that are 40/50 years old and it seems all I shoudl do is chuck them in the bin or give them away.

If you struggle with charity shops for your DVDs, you probably have some local "recycle, reuse" groups on Facebook that you can list them on. Same for books and programmes, you might find that someone local collects them and even though you don't get anything for them, at least they're not in the bin.

Or list and sell them yourself.  If the value isn't very likely to be high enough to pay someone's wage for all the time spent sorting, listing and selling then noone will buy them as a bulk lot.  But, thanks to volunteers sorting and selling, a charity may still find them worthwhile.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

you could maybe try contacting a 'collectables' sort of shop via a trawl through something old fashhioned like yellow pages - this one has lots of stuff that seems very similar to what you are trying to shift, don't know if they are actually in the market to buy though ... www.welshbridge.com
