Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive oil, please can I have recommendations?
Are the ones in a ‘tin’ better than ones in glass or plastic bottles?
slowly using up what I have and replacing it with ‘good stuff’, baby steps2 -
It depends what you are using it for. I buy Lidl/Aldi for cooking but a much more expensive organic one for salads, because that’s when the taste really matters.4

I remember years ago Keith Floyd/Jamie Oliver (?) saying you should only buy olive oil in dark containers. So the tins or at least the dark coloured glass/plastic bottles. It's technically a fruit juice and shouldn't be exposed to light.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5

We have been trying to eat organic since 2013. It's getting difficult to buy good quality fresh organic meat, poultry, fruit and veg from supermarkets now.
It is possible to buy non-organic food without additives but you have to read labels.
Polish food e.g. ready meals in big jars, are often pasteurized, so they don't contain preservatives. Prosciutto aka Parma ham, with the gold crown logo, doesn't contain nitrates or nitrites. Piatnica Serek Wiejski cottage cheese from Poland has nice big lumps, additive free and sits in cream not watery stuff. Iceland sandwich filler tubs have no/fewer nasties than Sainsbury's. Capri Sun juice drinks are all natural, plus Stevia. Iceland has pineapple juice not from concentrate, 3 litres for £5 at the moment.
The one most important thing for health is to junk the biscuits, cakes, crisps, toast, cereals, pies etc. Lots of calories, but not much nutrition. If you find It too expensive to buy meat, poultry or fish, full fat dairy and eggs are very nutritious.
It is possible, if you pick carefully, to get a reasonably healthy Chinese takeaway. Our local marks allergens, sulphur dioxide, gluten etc on the menu.
