HiSense Cashback Offer

Does anyone else have experience of trying to claim cashback from HiSense following their recent World Cup promotion or similar?
They appear to have made the rules to qualify for the cashback so complex and opaque that it's impossible to claim

DO you have a link to the promotion?0

Lots of companies do, enables a reasonable marketing message without a big fulfilment bill.BBL70 said:Does anyone else have experience of trying to claim cashback from HiSense following their recent World Cup promotion or similar?

Bought a FridgeFreezer from Currys late last year which was advertised as being eligible for £200 cashback from HiSense as part of a 'WorldCup Promotion' where you had to wait for the qualifying period to start and then submit proof of purchase to receive the money.zoob said:What issues are you having?
On the day the qualifying period opened I submitted a photo of my receipt. The website was set up so that you had to have a unique log in and password and after a period of time (I assume whilst they reviewed the Proof Of Purchase) the status of your claim would change to accepted or rejected. If rejected you had further opportunities to resubmit the Proof of Purchase. I did this multiple times for example, a single photo of the receipt was rejected because the text was too small to read; multiple overlapping photo's of the receipt were rejected for reasons that are still not clear to me; a video of the receipt (to show all the details clearly) could not be uploaded as the file size was too large.
In summary, it appears that the criteria were impossible (or at least very difficult) to achieve.
I've Emailled HiSense and they claim there is nothing they can do (well, they would, wouldn't they!)
I wonder what percentage of claims were actually successful - I suspect very few.0 -
The specific website has been taken down now, but it looks like they are running something similar here: https://www.hisensepromotions.co.uk/sheramber said:DO you have a link to the promotion?0 -
And they are allowed to get away with being misleading?DullGreyGuy said:

You could challenge it, possibly trying a letter before action with the threat of small claims court, to see if that instigates anything. If it doesn't work, you could see it through, but you'd need the details of the promotion and its criteria and some reasonable evidence that you endeavoured to comply.1

Its not misleading as long as it was clear that T&Cs applied and those T&Cs are being applied and aren't totally ridiculous. Many white goods come with a partial extended warranty if you register within 30 days... if you miss the 30 days thats your own fault as its a reasonable enough window and to be honest you've also then avoided the hard sell of the full extended warranty.BBL70 said:

In this case the 28 days waiting period is going to be so you dont claim the cashback and then return the goods to the seller keeping the monies however coincidentally it also means a fair number of people will forget to do it. In fairness to them though they offer a reminder email service so does seem more likely the first.
I'm confused how you struggled to get a clear picture of the receipt? Do you not have a smart phone or a friend with one that could have helped? Having had a CFO that would mark up documents in pen and just send random photos of bits of pages with her edits I can fully understand why they didnt want to stitch together your multiple photos but again its not obvious why you didnt combine them to a single picture0 -

You can't report direct to Trading Standards. You would have to go through Citizens Advice. They might pass the details on, however it would in no way to assist you.
