Your mortgage is getting nice and low. Well done on the car insurance comparison shopping.

    LOL at the jam.

Hope that the time with family goes as well as it can. Sounds like a very difficult time.

  • Mortgage amount: £19,500
    Interest: £98.34 - 6.14%

Monthly payment of £572.45 plus a tilly tidy of £24.89.  Good to see the interest under £100 this month (I know it's a short one but nonetheless).

    Payday OP of £1,000 made.

Just revisited the budget and made a few amendments, Council Tax has gone 5% and internet has gone up 8%.  We have also increased the amount we put in a savings pot for visits to elderly parents, we think there are lots of trips coming up this year to help out.  We had to use some of our EF as Mr Thrifty's phone was stolen  :(

Thinking that April should be a fairly steady month with, hopefully, no unexpected expediture!

    Mortgage amount: £17,840
    Interest: £99.84 - 6.14%

Payment went out today of £572.46 plus a tilly tidy of £187.39 from the overpayments pot.  Encouraged to see the interest under £100 even on a longer month.

I was reading about all the things that are going up this month, Council tax, broadband, vehicle excise duty, water etc. hopefully I've accounted for those increased amounts. We're keeping an eye on petrol costs this month as Mr Thrifty is commuting into work more often; we may have to increase the petrol budget in May  :# .  Hopefully, the NI change will give us a bit of scope for that

A rare, small win on the Premium Bonds of £25 has now been transferred to the morgage (every little helps).

Had a couple of large payments out this month, oil of £350 and car repairs of £300 both budgeted for but the car repairs were a hefty amount which we could have done without.  Almost our whole year's car maintenance budget has gone and it's only April. 😧
