Mortgage amount: £28,365
Payday yesterday so, did an OP of £1,400. Relieved that interest rates haven't gone up this month, a bit of stability would be lovely. We won't have to service the money transfer card until next month and we've stopped using that card for petrol etc.
I've been tackling the broadband as it was coming up to the end of the contract. We live in a rural area and only have the choice of three providers so, decided to stay with +net as they have good customer service and the prices were all much of a muchness. Worked out at £10 per month cheaper over two years. The landline is no longer part of the package they offer so, that has had to go, which left us with a problem as we have no mobile signal here. We have changed our mobile provider to Smarty so that we can access wifi calling, they also pay you back for unused data which is great. Mr Thrifty has wifi at work, but I don't, even so, I only use a few Mb each month; hoping we both get a few coppers back at the end of each month.Just when I'm about to make ends meet, somebody moves the ends2 -
Mortgage amount: £27,943
Interest payment: £177.90
Mortgage payment has gone out this week, we are currently paying 6.14% as the rates have not increased this month. The payment is currently £572.45 per month so, this month's OP was £1,427 and a few pennies. The £10k transferred via a money transfer card should make a difference next month. I received the first bill for that this week 2.75% of the total so, £283.25 payable after next payday.
I was paid from my second job this month (I get paid bi-annually) which will pay for food and activities on our half term break to the Peak District. We have lots of 'pots' for various things and although we only put small amounts in most of them, they add up over time and this allows us to do nice things and still remain focussed on the main goals of pension saving and of being mortgage free.
As for money going into our pensions, Mr Thrifty uses salary sacrifice into his DC pension and I have a LGPS pension. I think we're happy with the split of our income between the two goals at the moment.Just when I'm about to make ends meet, somebody moves the ends4 -
Mortgage amount: £26,900
Payday this week so, OP of £1,043 made plus, £283.25 to the money transfer card. This leaves £673.75 for the monthly payment plus a bit more OP/tidying on the 1st.
Earlier this year I have moved my car tax over to annual payments from monthly, saving 5%. The new tax year starts on Mr Thrifty's car on the 1st so I will move that over to annual too. Small amounts but, it all helps. It's spreadsheet weekend plus, we're going to work out a christmas budget, we save into a pot each month for that. The buildings and contents insurance went up £40 this year, I went on the comparison sites but couldn't find it cheaper than the broker's quote. I pay this annually too. When we were in debt, I moved everything to monthly to help with spreading the cost but, in some cases, it's more expensive so now we are sorted, I'm moving things back to annually if it's cheaper. I've also cancelled the automatic renewal on breakdown cover - I'll shop around for that next month when it's due.Just when I'm about to make ends meet, somebody moves the ends2 -
Mortgage amount: £26,090.00
Just made an overpayment to round things down and realised that we have paid more than planned. We forgot that we have already paid some allocated money to the cash transfer card, oh well! Will put that down to the fact that we have just had a lovely holiday in the Derbyshire Peak District and brain is not yet engaged. We'll borrow it from another pot until next month.
Have been playing with spreadsheets this weekend (well who doesn't enjoy that?) just to make sure we are on track for our target end-date of October '25. Looking OK at the moment as long as we don't have to replace the roof (again), or the windows (again) or the boiler (again)..........

Mortgage amount: £25,290
Payday this week so, £800 OP made. A smaller amount this month due to the mistakeI made last month, forgetting the money transfer payment. It all has to come out of the allocated monies. Good to get down to £25K, feels like another milestone.
Keeping a close eye on the Christmas budget, trying to make sure we don't go over as the overall household budget is all allocated and there isn't any wriggle room to speak of. Car passed its MOT but two tyres needed on the advisory as expected. I did expect to need heating oil but there seems to be enough for over Christmas, it's always a big expense and fluctuates quite a bit so, the budget is always a bit of guesswork.

Great milestones and focus. Also great that you are celebrating breaking these 10k barriers.
You will def be MF by this time next yearDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Mortgage amount: £24,500
Interest: £130.38
Payment of £572.45 went out yesterday, good to have some stability with the payment amount. However, when I came to do the OP and tidy up, I completely forgot AGAIN to deduct the money transfer payment. I have written myself a stern note in the budget planner about next month's overpayment. Fortunately, I had a payrise this month backdated from April but, that money was not allocated to mortgage overpayments so needs to wing its way back next month.Just when I'm about to make ends meet, somebody moves the ends3 -
Mortgage amount £23,700
Payday today so, OP made of £800. Another sticker on the chart and coin in the jar.
Next year will hopefully be our last full year of the mortgage, we just need to knuckle down and sludge through to the end.Just when I'm about to make ends meet, somebody moves the ends5
