I may be missing it (as I often do) but is there anything on their site about the right to cancel other than

    https://www.donaldrussell.com/terms-and-conditions

The Buyer may cancel any order for Goods for any reason up to 72 hours before the point of dispatch and any payments made by the Buyer shall be refunded in full within 28 days. (The Buyer may cancel any Contract for Services.....)

The goods aren't "the supply of goods which are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly" as that's the opposite of frozen food.

Assuming the order wasn't made to the consumer’s specifications or ... (wasn't) clearly personalised and if the food was sealed and remains as such I don't see why the right cancel doesn't exist?
Frozen food can easily deteriorate jf it is not stored properly.
So could a laptop if you improbably stored it in the garden :)

I love my DR orders, they come with Dry Ice packs which are normally half full so into some water they go and I have  horror movie fog flowing out of my sink.

This guidance from the UK gov states

    https://www.gov.uk/accepting-returns-and-giving-refunds

You have to offer a refund for certain items only if they’re faulty, such as:

    • personalised items and custom-made items, for example curtains
    • perishable items, for example frozen food or flowers
Which implies you don't have to refund if they are not faulty presumably in relation to the limits.

The EU guidance on the matter mentioned chilled foods as an example of something excluded but no clarification of frozen.

The trader is obligated to provide:

    (o)where under regulation 28, 36 or 37 there is no right to cancel or the right to cancel may be lost, the information that the consumer will not benefit from a right to cancel, or the circumstances under which the consumer loses the right to cancel;

Which I don't see on the site (again may be missing it) and without it the consumer isn't bound by the contract (but I don't know what that means in real terms).

Personally I don't see frozen food is liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. Food delivered when purchased online must (legally) be safe upon delivery and frozen food that has defrosted shouldn't be refrozen (according to the Food Standards Agency) so it stands the meat must be frozen upon delivery and who wouldn't put it in their freezer (or defrost it which means it's now chilled and can't be cancelled).

I do appreciate there is a more likelihood of the something happening to a frozen piece of meat rather than a laptop but that's what the diminished value rules should be for.

I don't think there's a set ruling on frozen food and cancelling the contract so until such time it's probably a case of companies will say it's excluded but at the very least they should be complying with the required info noting this.

I’ve used a few online butchers and I think DR are one of the few that do frozen meat. Most online butchers seem to do fresh.

    Given "Not Cheap" is mentioned.
In true MSE style. Then local butcher & self freeze sounds like the best option. Ours is a lot cheaper 👍

Find it hard to believe that at some point in next 5 momths you won’t find the time to eat this short life frozen meat unless you have too much  frozen meat already in freezer with even shorter life

What I don’t understand is why you would order frozen meat now if you have no intention of using it within the next 4 or 5 months.

You stated you needed to stock the freezer, but why, if you already have sufficient stock for the next few months?

Very improbable that I would store a laptop in the garden
