yes but we are dual citizens. we would like to avoid trips to court and see it through online or remotely when living abroad.

If at least one party lives in the uk you can divorce in the uk. Court may not be necessary for a simple divorce where both parties are in agreement

Why would you live as partners if divorcing,

If you are both in agreement on asset splitting & children etc a few months.
if there is disagreement it could be a year or even more and you probably need to use a solicitor and go to court, not an online service which is for simple divorces only.

we married abroad and became naturalised citizens, the marriage got automatically registered, we would just like to cancel that 'automatic' registration.

can i live outside the uk when the process is ongoing..

p.s. there is always  a chance anyone can put you in trouble, divorce out of the way or not..

You can't get the 'automatic registration' cancelled. It wasn't registered if you married outside of the uk, just recognised as a legal marriage from which you need a legal divorce.

Yes you can live outside of the uk unless it's a complicated divorce, children, disagreement on assets etc, and you are needed to appear in Court.

Has the marriage broken down? Why would people who still want to be in a relationship with each other ("live as partners") want to get divorced?

Why do you want to get divorced? What are you trying to achieve?

The usual starting point in UK law is a 50/50 split of the assets (property, pensions, savings etc.,) in the financial settlement you should get. Are there any children?

Are you aware of the impact that divorcing may have on wills, inheritance, tax, benefit entitlement, pensions, etc., either in the UK or in which ever country you're living in.
