Hello I want to ask this question for my father below are the rates he will be getting from April 2023
Basic state pension £156.28 pw
Pre 97 additional state pension £43.90 pw
Pre 97 additional state pension £42.68 pw
Graduated retirement benefit £6.08 pw
if my father starts to claim carers allowance will it affect his above weekly money? Also can my father get free dental treatment and eye testing? Thank you

Carers allowance is an overlapping benefit with state retirement pension so he cannot be paid it as his state pension is more than £69.70 a week. He can retain an underlying entitlement to carers allowance which would mean he could get a carers premium on means tested benefits such as pension credit. It would depend on his overall situation whether he would qualify for pension credit. He would not automatically get free dental and eye testing as he is not in receipt of a qualifying benefit, although he could apply under the NHS low income scheme.1

Does your father live with a partner? If so is the partner state pension age or below?

If you get State Pension
You cannot get the full amount of both Carer’s Allowance and your State Pension at the same time.
If your pension is £69.70 a week or more, you will not get a Carer’s Allowance payment.
If your pension is less than £69.70 a week, you’ll get a Carer’s Allowance payment to make up the difference.
