Hi
my friend has a business account with EDF for electricity and has been told that he is ineligible for the oil alternative fuel payment. I wondered if anyone else maight have had a similar experience. He is currently on a three year fixed tariff for electricity so is only paying the old pre October rates but surely that shouldn’t have any bearing on his eligibility for an oil payment. Any help would be great thanks.

my friend has a business account with EDF for electricity and has been told that he is ineligible for the oil alternative fuel paymentAs a business, they don't get the DAFP of £200. They get the ND-AFP which is £150.
Electricity companies should have got this payment by the 10th to then distribute automatically after that.
Did they state why he was not eligible? He is currently on a three year fixed tariff for electricity so is only paying the old pre October rates but surely that shouldn’t have any bearing on his eligibility for an oil payment.tariff doesn't matter as long as its a non-domestic tariff.
Its more likely that the automatic filters have failed (such as not being 100% off mains gas in the postcode). In which case, he needs to manually apply, which uses the same method as the DAFP.
